I expect the epa issues to get addressed and the truck to go back into production. The ecodisel is the only diesel light duty truck of its kind. As to cost differences to operate the eco diesel to the the Hemisphere? I found this:

Current data suggests paying 5-10% more for fuel gets you +45% better mpg. These are give-or-take numbers since the cost of diesel relative to gas varies by location.
Now compare how many gallons and dollars it takes to drive, say, 20,000 miles.
    Gas - 20,000 miles / 15.4 mpg = 1,299 gallons. At $3.71/gallon, that's $4,819.
    Diesel - 20,000 miles / 22.5 mpg = 889 gallons. At $3.92/gallon, that's $3,485.

Assuming that 20,000 miles was driven over a year's time, you save ~$1,334 annually.
$10k for the diesel engine? After 8 years, you break even. If you drive 20k/year with a work truck. Now...once they actually make the diesel cleaner, you might not see the 25 mpg you used for comparison. Most half ton trucks are getting a little better than 15 mpg now.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Test question for you Texas truck owners. What is the biggest selling Dodge Ram trim package in Texas?

They used a 22.5 for comparison. The eco diesel purports a 27 mpg. https://www.ramtrucks.com/ecodiesel.html

Personally love the sound of the hemi.

Trim packages aren't listed, but the #1 selling pick up truck in Texas is the F150.

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

For Dodge it is the Texas trim package. I didn't see anything special about it.

Look up dodge in the dictionary: "to avoid".

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Sweet ride, Damo! I am looking at a new truck. The Ram is looking right. Good towing capacity too. But I want the RamBox.

The color looks great. Hard to keep clean though. Enjoy the truck!
