Of course it's to benefit men. A man consigned to one role -- that of worker bee provider -- loses out on life. Men are just as capable as women of strong and enduring bonds with their children, of selless love and devotion. I was lucky and had a Dad like that. My g-kids are lucky to have loving and involved dads too. If we provide for parents (as in parental leave), we are also providing for our own future by building stronger families and children who are loved and cherished by both parents. It's possible for a single parent to raise a well-adjusted and successful child, but it's much better if that child has two involved parents.
It's too bad that you seem to see a war between the genders where it doesn't exist.

I agree that most small businesses would likely not be able to participate. But there are a number of benefits small businesses aren't able to provide their employees.
If a woman has a new baby, she really needs to be able to stay home with that child in the first few weeks at least, I'd like to see 2 months. I would support tax incentives for employers to provide paid leave. I do not believe it should be federally mandated.
TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!
American births have dropped below the population replacement rate.
This is a timely incentive to promote an increase in our birth rate.
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

Socialism is just the modern word for monarchy.
D.C. has become a Guild System with an hierarchy and line of accession much like the Royal Court or priestly classes.
Private citizens are perfectly able of doing a better job without "apprenticing".
What the fuck? You think family leave for fathers is some gay rights thing?
Mothers' milk does not "seal the bond." You are thinking of oxytocin, which is the "love hormone;" the hormone released during lactation is prolactin. Both are neurotransmitters. Males have oxytocin too. Here, read about it. Very interesting.
