I imagine that, like alcohol and cigarettes, your own genetic predispositions play a large role in your risk of illness. I also imagine that commercially available cigarettes have had the same problem for years that marijuana is just starting to develop - they are engineered to have greater levels of nicotine, and are thus more highly addictive than they would be in a more primitive marketplace.

Unfortunately although there is some truthiness in that article, it reeks of the typical scare stories told to keep kids from even trying something. Most ppl who smoke weed are not going to have any of the issues mentioned. Most ppl who smoke weed only do so occasionally. But just like with cigs, booze, etc. heavy usage is going to cause harm. We know one guy who developed COPD from heavy MJ smoking.
