Well, Trump HAS created that environment. He has done nothing to create any sense of bipartisanship in DC.

Trump is a terrible leader. He loves this kind of chaos; he loves that we're divided.

The sun is out, and the snow is melting. What a lovely day...so glad, because we have a several hour road trip ahead of us later this afternoon. I'm going to thank God for that.
I'll blame obama for the reason we have to make the trip.

    I believe the AP.

Before their re-write lol. But seriously, Republicans tried to keep from shutting down the government but not enough democrats voted to keep it open. That’s a fact. The first AP headline was dead-on target.

You will always cherrypick only those stories, articles & polls which support your POV.

That is no surprise at all.

The story was totally accurate. The headline was totally accurate—but clumsily worded lol.

Democrats, led by Chuckie Schumer, derailed a republican led attempt to keep the government open. How can the shutdown be republicans fault when they offered up a bill to keep it open?

They didn’t give away enough of the farm to democrats? It’s sounds a bit like Schumer’s Shutdown.

    That's a pretty typical hyper-partisan take.

So, Democrats have to approve anything that Republicans put out there, anytime, no matter what the clauses & results - or they're at fault.

    Enlightening; thanks.

You can rationalize Orangetweet's rescission all you want. It doesn't change the fact that he and his majority party have had since September to fix it. You really think they will before March 5?

Fuck 'em. They made their bed.

Democrats shut down the government over DACA. That’s the story and that’s the headline—-or should be.

Amusingly, the Twitter headline for this AP link reads:

The Latest: Senate Democrats appear to have derailed a Republican bill aimed at preventing a federal shutdown. [AP on Twitter]

Note the gratuitous word smithing in the above headline. Why can’t AP just say ‘Democrats shut down the government over DACA’? That’s what happened and it’s more concise.

But when you click on the Twitter link it takes you to another headline which reads: “Schumer says Trump backed off deal”.

And here I thought the media might actually blame democrats for a government shutdown, finally. Well they did at first, but they couldn’t follow through with it lol.

This whole thread reminds me of when Republicans tried to blame Barney Frank for the housing bubble, to deflect accountability from Bush.

I know how you can slove this

Give all the power to the Democratic party so you can be the minority party again and have that power you claim the Democraatic party has as a minority party
