People have voted against their economic interests since we started having elections. I think you & I might disagree about what the best policies are for the vast majority of working Americans.
Everything else being equal, the tendency for voters is to not vote against their own economic interests. Hence the axiom: ‘it’s the economy stupid’.

Prior to the election I was very confident Trump would do well with the economy if elected and my reasoning didn’t let me down. Obama wasn’t very good with the economy. He deserves credit for stemming the tide after the collapse, but by 2016, 2009 is ancient history.

Just one of the political miscalculations Hillary made was in underestimating the dissatisfaction of millions of voters regarding the Obama economy. Trump comes along claiming we can do better—and he explained HOW he was going to make it better, and he did.

Hillary promised more of the same ‘we’re no longer drowning but it’s stagnant’. The new normal is sluggish growth etc.

And it was rejected in favor Trump’s promise to revive the economy as part of MAGA.

And here we are lol. Yet you’re looking for excuses to bet against it in 2020. Remind me not to go to the dog track with you.
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017

Lol no according to the CBO they are welfare recipient net drains on the economy:

In total, CBO and JCT estimate that changes in direct spending and revenues from enacting S. 1615 would increase budget deficits by $25.9 billion over the 2018-2027 period, boosting on-budget deficits by $30.6 billion and decreasing off-budget deficits by $4.7 billion over that period. Pay-as-you-go procedures apply because enacting the bill would affect direct spending and revenues.

Since when??? Sometime early this morning?

Non-citizens not only can...but do join our armed forces...to the tune of 8,000 each year.

Almost 5% of our armed forces are not citizens.

"Spare me we needed 60 votes in the Senate the shutdown is due to Democrat intransigence, end o story." PK #110
And Republican intransigence on DACA, and President Trump's now 3 year long harangue on

I'm gunna build a wall, and Mexico's gunna pay for it.

amplifies the xenophobia that's threatened the "dreamers" from the start.

Independent of legal status, these are Americans that are for practical and functional and actual purpose, U.S. citizens.
For many if not most, the U.S. is the nation / culture / People they know best, if they know any other at all.

Punishing them for the ostensible sins of their parents is shameful, not consistent with who we are as a People.

So Democrats hold Republican feet to the fire about it, and the Democrats are at fault.

    SPLENDID !!

If affixing partisan blame is a higher priority than solving problems, Republicans win!

But the stats I've read on it indicate about 80% of the U.S. population believe the Democrats are right, and the Republicans are wrong on DACA.
"It should be obvious to anyone why conservatives and libertarians should be against Trump. He has no grounding in belief. No core philosophy. No morals. No loyalty. No curiosity. No empathy and no understanding. He demands personal loyalty and not loyalty to the nation. His only core belief is in his own superiority to everyone else. His only want is exercise more and more personal power." smb / purveyor of fact 18/03/18

The market had tripled and we were almost back to full employment when Obama left office. It didn't end in 2009.

And you were probably crowing about Bush's economy in August of 2008. The test of a President's policies is over time; not a quick splash. Much of this past year's economy is investor confidence in the prospect of Trump's policies. Now, we get to see how effective those policies actually are.

A typical RW idiot. Always looking for instant gratification.

Have kids under 18, idiot? I shudder at the thought of your defective DNA being passed on. Those worthless pieces of shit have done what, punk?

And no, dumbfuck. Non-citizens can join the military.

Go back to playing with yourself, douchebag. You’re out of your league here.

You're incorrect legal aliens can join the military.

"Each year about 8,000 non-citizens join the U.S. military. A 2011 study found that roughly 4 percent of those enlisted in active-duty military service are non-citizens. Generally, if a person is not a U.S. citizen, he needs to be a green card holder, i.e., a lawful permanent resident, to join the military. Sep 6, 2017
