I think it does affect that of many, however, and the President can certainly lead by example, for better or worse. I think that is borne out w/ the spike of hate crimes & discrimination we saw after Trump was elected. It was kind of like he made it okay to hate again.

Trump has no effect on me whatsoever. But I don't think it's good for the country to have a leader who sets the kind of example he does.

I don't really think it's unreasonable to say that the POTUS has some effect on the tone & discourse in a country. Do you really think it's irrelevant?
