What's your take on the mentally ill ken. Should they be free to live on the streets if they so desire (and aren't a threat to themselves or others) or should we force them into institutions?

Since California is DEMOCRAT-controlled and is the state with the highest poverty rate in America, high taxes, profuse regulations and wild spending on social programs clearly don't work.

News Flash, "The Poor will be among you always...." -- John 12:8 The poor even existed on the streets of large liberal cities when the TAX RATE was over 90% for the highest earners. Simply prove that fact of history WRONG. What happened to the Great Society WAR ON POVERTY? The rate of poverty (the poverty index ) has remained static since the 1960s....while tens of TRILLIONS of dollars have been tossed at the problem. Money is not the problem.....FREE WILL is the problem, some people simply choose to remain poor as long as BIG BROTHER continues to feed and house them without requiring them to WORK or educate themselves.

And really is there any excuse for a Vet to be homeless and hungry in the United States of America? All one need do is apply for the many benefits readily available to any vet regardless of service connection disability.....either one of 2 things exist when any vet finds themselves hungry or homeless....they are either mentally ill or just plain too lazy to apply for help.

$22 trillion spent on social welfare programs in an effort to eradicate poverty over the last 50 - 51 years and the percentage of Americans in poverty is the same as it was prior to that money being spent. I've yet to figure out why lefties think spending more and more and more on something where the ROOT CAUSE isn't a lack of money will solve the problem. None have been able to explain it either.

Why is it always blacks who are depicted as poor in political cartoons like this one?

    Seems pretty racist to me.
