Default "The GOP's Mad Dash to Pass a Tax Bill Proves That Haste Makes Waste"

"Of all the follies of 2017, the most tawdry may be the GOP's headlong rush to pass a tax bill that even its proponents don't understand"

"Political desperation is the mother of this legislation. Despite Republican control of both houses of Congress, the Trump administration has failed in its first year to enact legislation that deals with major problems, such as health care and immigration."

"The tax bill is a Rubik's Cube of potential problems, but the difficulties begin with the fact that it has been pushed through Congress in two months without hearings or careful analysis. The provisions were crafted in secret and passed on party-line votes, without a chance for assessment or analysis."

"This haste guarantees confusion later. Without a clear legislative history, tax lawyers at the Internal Revenue Service won't have adequate guidance when they try to write regulations implementing the law. Courts won't have a record of congressional intent, other than press conferences, tweets and hurried floor and committee statements."

I don't really understand it but what I really really like is that it does away with the individual mandate for folks that can't afford to buy ACA substandard hlth ins.

I would use desh as an example of lib'ruls lying about the tax bill, but since she lies in every post, just mentioning her name would be redundant.......

i always say there should be a tax challenge. Both parties should agree that if your taxes go up like democrats claim then you should vote democrat. If your taxes go down like republicans claim then you should vote republican.

What timeframe do you give that?

The GOP made sure to throw the middle class & poor some scraps for the next few years, but it will start to hurt after that. What you posted above is exactly the ruse they're trying to put over on everyone.
