Default Why did Moore lose and Trump won?

Rump won Alabama by 28% a year ago....

Last night Moore, a candidate who promised to follow Rump's agenda and has numerous sexual abuse allegations against him lost to a Pro-Choice Democrat in ALABAMA!

I understand that, but why? Why did so many evangelicals stay home for Moore but went out for Rump?

Jones has a three year job, period. The majority in both houses still solid and with a mid term coming up that doesn't bode well for Democrats this Moore loss stands for little besides making the triggered feel good for a day or two, CNN is acting like they just won the mega-bucks

You don't think Jones's vote will matter in the Senate? You don't think tax reform just got harder for the Rumppers?

You really still believe 2018 looks bad for the Democrats?

The number one reason Doug Jones will be a US Senator -- hands down -- is that many traditional Republican voters either wrote in a candidate, crossed over for Jones, or (and this was the big one) sat at home.

As of midnight, with 100 percent of precincts reporting, Jones' victory margin was a hair under 21,000 votes (that number may fluctuate as tallies are finalized).

Nearly 23,000 Alabamians followed the lead of GOP Senator Richard Shelby and wrote in someone other than the two parties' nominees.

Beyond that, Republican turnout was way down: Jones came close to matching Hillary Clinton's vote total in the state, whereas Moore managed just about half of the Trump vote.

Throughout the night, election gurus kept noticing that Jones was outperforming his targets in heavily Democratic areas, while Moore was underperforming significantly in major GOP strongholds.

Won't the tax bill be voted on before Jones is seated, Brad?

hard is an operative word for everything Trump wants to get done, Tax reform will pass. Just as the wall will get built, only Trump will just have to drag Democrats kicking and screaming while he does them, like toddlers that don't want to go to bed, you show them who is boss.

2018 does not look good for Democrats, this meant nothing to that end.
Democrats have to defend 25 seats, (23 actual dem seats and two lock step dem puppets that call themselves independent) Republicans only 8. And I realize math is not your strong suit, but chew on that number for a minute or two, get back to me.

Maybe - like me - they hated the thought of an incompetent Hillary presidency enough to make sure to vote against her last year.

Since Hillary taking power wasn't a factor in this race, the stakes weren't as high in a lot of people's minds, I suspect.

I dont know, I saw several Congressmembers calling for the vote to be delayed until Jones is seated, kinda like the Supreme Court pick was delayed.
