Is "white fish" an actual species there, or just a generic name? We have "white fish" here that come from the big lake, and are sold by that name.

White fish is generic but there are local vernaculars and the term whitefish is fairly common.

If I thought you could get fresh Cod I would have been more specific but fish must be A-1 for poaching.

Yes they are, but legumes are good to have in your diet. I don't eat a lot of this now but had it in the past and like it a lot.

I'm not sure because I'm not a purist. I generally avoid high carb items just on my own.

Beans are supposed to be excellent even if they are carb-rich. Takes us a lot longer to digest them. Unless we're Mr. Owl, in which case the aftereffects are quickly apparent. lol
