Default Paul Ryan admits the GOP will gut Medicare and Medicaid to pay for tax cuts

You are not going to slash my social security to pay for this asinine tax cut for the rich?!! It suppose to pay for itself?

S.S., Medicare and military are the three largest federal expenditures. Going to have to address them at some point

Then we don't need tax cuts, we need to address the deficit, these tax cuts only add to the deficit! Better raise taxes on the rich and corporations and close tax loopholes they use to not pay their fair share of taxes or none at all!

That's was the point of tax reform. Politicians you vote for are the ones who put in the loopholes. If we had a flat tax they wouldn't be necessary but this is the system we prefer. So loopholes are what you get.

And this is what we should have done all along. You cut taxes you need to cut spending along with it. This is the right way to go about it

The tax cuts are federal income taxes which do not affect Social Security and Medicare funding (Part A).

Excuse me, but isn’t that what this thread is about, gutting programs to pay for the tax cuts? It seems it will have an affect.

    I wish it were true.

Eliminating Boomer entitlements would be the right thing to do.

How will a cut in federal income taxes affect Social Security which operates only on payroll taxes? Neither Social Security or Medicare are sustainable at the current level without cuts or increased taxes according to the trustees.

Cut the whining Boomers off without a cent.

They should have planned for their old age.

Reduce the military to a modest sized professional force necessary to defend the conterminous United States and it's territories, expand Medicare to all people, and raise the cap on social security payroll taxes.

    Problem solved.

This isn't about what we can afford.

This is about the enduring Republican philosophy that it's each man for himself, and fuck everyone else.
