Grassley is definitely wrong in that rich people spend lots of money on women. I mean look at all the fancy things men purchase to impress women; cars, boats, travel, jewelry, etc.

But if comes from the mindset of The Millionaire Next Door frugality is what helped most those people reach that status. (Of course today the Fed gives the middle finger to savers).

this isn't an uncommon perception among the political elite for several reasons, chief among them is that they consider themselves far and above higher class and overall more worthy of life and liberty than the rest of the lower wage earners. In other words, they're totally arrogant. It's a main reason why people talk about getting the money out of politics but have no intelligence about them in doing so because they fall for the koolaid and keep electing them. Secondly, they spend less on booze and women because it's usually supplied by lobbyists and corporate entities trying to buy favors and legislation.
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

If you cut taxes, how do you recoup the revenue that we will lose?

How do we pay for education, infrastructure, social programs, healthcare etc.?

What cut would you like to be see given?

So now it matters how you earn. Not how much you earn? I don't only earn by the labor and skill I offer my employer. I invest, own rental properties and have developed a few products. Do I now meet your definition of top earner?

Don't paint with too broad a brush.

In an astonishing defense of dropping “death taxes” for individual estates worth more than $5.5 million, GOP Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley implied that people not currently affected by that tax are “spending every darn penny ... on booze or women.”
“I think not having the estate tax recognizes the people that are investing — as opposed to those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies,” Grassley told the Des Moines Register in an interview published Saturday. Grassley, who serves on the Finance Committee, made the remark when asked about the Senate tax reform measure which would double the exemption for estates to*$11 million*for an individual and $22 million for a couple. Heirs would inherit the estates tax-free.

Rich people spend (blow) a lot of money too as well as invest. Like Patrick Ewing famously said "we make a lot but we spend a lot".

Rich folks generally don't just put their money under a mattress

The lie that Republicans are pushing, is that increased revenue via a boost to the economy/income taxes will have to happen when you give billionaires a tax cut.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
