Crap, I have to admit this is one of the few times in my life a Republican is correct. Because this senator dude totally has me pegged.

I normally don't like defending republicans. But he's right and generally a pretty good guy. The bottom earners do spend a higher percentage of their income on booze than the top 20% of earners.

Could it be because there are more of them and their earnings are less, I would have to see what stats your comments are based upon.

It could also be that the Senator is an unfiltered asshole.

Top earners have a taste for scripts.

Define top earners please. In my area I'm in the top 5 or 10% if you're only looking at annual income. I have a taste for bourbon and rye primarily. With the past and very occasional taste for blow. Meth a couple of times too. But didn't like dealing with the week long crash.

He could have just stopped at the bottom earners spend more of their money. The top ones hang on to it. That's why stimulus spending and tax cuts for lower income people are effective ways to jump-start a flagging economy. And why giving tax cuts to the already-uber wealthy just increases economic inequality.

Not so much what you earn, so much as how. Wall Streeters, hedge fund workers, etc.

Correct. But you'll never see Republicans give those who actually move the (real) economy a cut, without a much larger cut to those who don't need them. Odd, because the top of the food chain always ends up with the money after it's spent anyway.

Good point. Guess it takes too long to do it that way though.

We have too many stupid people voting, and too many stupid people running the country.

This isn't me being intellectually arrogant or anything. It's just factual. This whole thing isn't working.

Philosopher king may really be the way to go...
