Default A progressive's guide to political correctness

Is there ever a point where the PC police are satisfied, or do they have to continually tilt at windmills?? George Will imagines what an idyllic politically correct world would be like.

The PC progressives won't ever be satisfied. They're like the professional athlete, when another player gets a bigger contract then he/she has, stomps their feet and whines that the agreement they made in their contract must be negotiated because they're better than the other player.

It reminds me of the Confederate flag issue in South Carolina. The flag flew over the Statehouse and because of a few whiners, many of those that didn't have a clue it was there, were suddenly offended prompting a push for it to come down. When a compromise was made to place the flag on Statehouse grounds, once that compromise was in place, those same whiners suddenly weren't satisfied with something they agreed to accept.

    I'm all for conservatism.
Without any conservation, how could we have a reliable drinking water supply, or a body of laws as reliable as those in our Constitutional republic?

    AND !!

We all know the English prefix pro- means the opposite of the English prefix con-.
So we also know what the opposite of "progress" is, and we surely don't want too much of that!

    BUT !!

Without some progress, McDonald's new hires would commute to their jobs on horseback.

    //////////////////////////////////\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

I'd like a firm, extremely clearly defined official declaration of what is, and what is not PC.

I suspect it's rather more a general smear, when more substantive refutation doesn't come to mind.

You can thank Republican Richard Nixon, the greatest environmental U.S. president since TR.
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."
    — Joe Biden on Obama.

Socialism is just the modern word for monarchy.

D.C. has become a Guild System with an hierarchy and line of accession much like the Royal Court or priestly classes.

Private citizens are perfectly able of doing a better job without "apprenticing".

I know the people of Michigan are so happy with the clean water that conservatism has brought them.

    You are excused.

    FYI
The Cuyahoga River which flows into Lake Erie – caught fire in 1969. Know it or not, believe it or not, like it or not, admit it or not, if a river catches fire, drinking from it is not recommended.
The EPA, a U.S. federal CONSERVATION agency, was founded the following year.

The words you posted are not precisely my words.
    My words are correct.
    Yours are not.
Conservatism doesn't supply water in an absolute sense.
But due to the application of conservative principles such as containing pollution, and in time of drought, extending the usefulness of limited supply,
millions of Americans have potable drinking water that, as the Cuyahoga demonstrates.

You obviously don't understand that. Do you drink from your toilet before you flush?

"It should be obvious to anyone why conservatives and libertarians should be against Trump. He has no grounding in belief. No core philosophy. No morals. No loyalty. No curiosity. No empathy and no understanding. He demands personal loyalty and not loyalty to the nation. His only core belief is in his own superiority to everyone else. His only want is exercise more and more personal power." smb / purveyor of fact 18/03/18

Please show me proof of your claim by providing current legislation by conservatives for clean air and/or water.

A dictionary definition in this case is not proof.

    Swing & a miss!

A failing result obtained by sabotage from opposing forces does not undermine the sabotaged original principle.

It was the republican government of Michigan that allowed this to happen in Flint. they just did not care.
