Default Why do Republicans continue to lie about Trickle Down neo-liberal economics?

More importantly, why does the Republican base (and yes, even the Democratic base) continue to buy into it? This will be what -- the third time? -- trying massive tax cuts. They don't pay for themselves, and thus balloon the debt. They didn't work under Lord Raygun, they didn't work under Bush, and they're not going to work under Trump. All they do is increase the wealth disparity between the rich and the poor (formerly the middle class).

Any theories on why the people are stupid enough to believe that tax cuts for the super rich will generate wealth for the middle class and below? I laugh at the pittance that the middle class will receive under these tax cuts.

They worked great under Reagan. Take a look at GDP growth then compared to today.

The issue is politicians choose not to cut spending.

    Money is power.

When all the money is at the top of the food chain, we get Donald dump for president.

When people stop believing that tax cuts put money in their pockets we can then begin real reform.

By real reform, I mean the wealthy paying all the back taxes they owe since Reagan.

They, racist white wing republican men have been stealing from this country and blaming Blacks for it for so long, its a wonder if white American will ever see it or believe it.

a married couple who make $54,000 a year will have a $24,000 itemized deduction, $6000 in exemptions for a net taxable income of $24.000 at a taxable rate of 0%......what is the disparity ratio between "you don't pay no income taxes" and whatever rate the rich pay?.......(facts are so fucking inconvenient)......

The ONLY policy the right cares about - and I mean the people in charge - is moving to plutocracy. That's it. Everything else they do is to get power to do it, including pandering to voters to get votes for power. Let that sink in.

Knowing that, it makes since they'll use any snake oil they can to sell plutocracy. Leaving why voters fall for it, which in a word is ignorance - met by the propaganda and advertising machine of the right to push the con. They fall for it.

Any recommendations on how we can import the Californian economic model to the country as a whole to have extreme wealth along with the highest poverty rate?

As a progressive and an American I am happy to pay fair taxes for the good of the country - that's actual patriotism, not boycotting the NFL because players protest.

I have no clue what the second portion of your statement has to do with anything but you liked her comment that white people should pay back taxes going back to the '80's. So you owe about 30 - 35 years of taxes which for most people would be their entire net worth. You going to step up and pay that?

California's not the problem, it's more the solution though we need to do more to reduce poverty. Republicans are fighting only for plutocracy. California does have right-wing areas pulling it down but mostly it's great.
