Default Arizona restaurant closes following backlash from its pro-Trump Facebook post

    YOU LIBERALS ARE LIKE CHILDREN

An Arizona restaurant was forced to close its doors indefinitely this week after a politically charged Facebook post the eatery’s owners wrote prompted mass criticism from social media users.

Christopher Smith and Jay Warren, the owners of Cup it Up American Grill in Tucson, posted a statement on the restaurant’s social media page last week with a list of things the two support and resent, including the president, kneeling for the anthem and late night hosts, Vice News reported.

The post stated: "We believe in and support 100% in the following: OUR President, Always Standing for the National Anthem, repealing Obama Care…”

People can vote with their pocketbook. We can choose to eat wherever we want. If we don't want to eat somewhere because we don't like the owners politics that is our right as consumers.

Making threats to the restaurant and employees is a different story. That's unacceptable.

Yep. Publicizing your political positions will guarantee that you lose app. 50% of your business. Dumb move...but trump supporters typically don't attend MENSA meetings.

Yes very true, however just a tad surprising in somewhere like Arizona!

You b*tched previously about Rand Paul's position on this and you think it would somehow be different if an owner said only a certain race could eat at their restaurant? Same thing would happen as here.

And you think liberal restaurant owners don't publicize their politics?

Yeah, it is different when race is brought in. Then you have civil rights violations up the gazoo.

I still think that Paul is delusional if he wants to live in a society that allows businesses to discriminate against a specific demographic.

This isn't even close to the same thing. Paul's restaurant owners would see gains in business, as trump supporters would flock there. This OP references a business that chose to voice an opinion on many topics, and lost half of their customers. I'm sure in time trump supporters would frequent this place solely because the owners are similarly deranged.

Paul seems to think that racist owners would lose business. That might or might not happen, but a law that allows that behavior goes way beyond just restaurants. And that's the problem.

I'm simply saying let's say it's a white guy who owns a restaurant and puts a sign out front "no minorities allowed". That would go viral so quick that place would get crushed. And just as some people got outed and fired from their jobs for marching in Charlottesville the same thing would happen to patron's of a white only restaurant.

Gotta wonder who the genius is, that's in charge of their social media presence?

I don't really understand this stuff, but to each his own. I remember Hannity having a lengthy discussion w/ a caller on his radio show about how much they loved "Shawshank Redemption," but couldn't watch it on TV anymore because Tim Robbins was in it.

Why do we want everyone thinking the same way? I think most Trump supporters are deluded fools, but if they make a good burger or something, I'm not going to boycott it.

Unless the race being affected is white. Whites are expected to accept it.

Racists owners would lose business. Read about it. It's why those who supported segregation originally realized how stupid it was after when they had a whole new market to target their goods toward.
