    Default DiFi vs Tom Steyer?

Feinstein has announced she's running for re-election. She's around 84 years old but not ready to give up yet. Her biggest possible opponent is billionaire hedge fund manager turned environmentalist Tom Steyer. Dude donated something like $70 million to liberal candidates/causes last year and is ready to self fund his campaign if he chooses to run.

I know TTQ64 lives in California. Who do you like in this race?

For those unaware we have open primaries in California so the top two vote getters in the primary run against each other in the general. Being that this is California the two finalist will be Democrats.

I'm not a huge DiFi fan but I am definitely not a fan of Tom Steyer. A d-bag guy who made his billions in oil and hedge funds and now is this crazy environmentalist. So I'll vote for DiFi. If she wins the only three people I will have voted for who have won elective office would be Democrats. Considering I'm told I'm a racist and I support institutional racism that's pretty impressive.

Maybe to stop supporting institutional racism I'll start voting Republican?

It was a proposition that passed in 2010 here. DiFi has money and name recognition but the real progressive types strongly dislike her. Like Hillary, she voted for the Iraq War. Chances are she'll still win. Good point about the primary, I'll do that.

Neither really. But, he's too rich for my taste.

Besides, has he announced? I don't see him as declared.

I don't see a candidate that shares my interest. None have addressed racial injustice.

    I'll wait for another Kamala.

Big article on him today in the SF Chronicle that he's the candidate Feinstein really fears (though you are correct he has not announced yet). There's a guy who I think has actually announced (drawing a blank on his name) but his challenge is going to be name recognition and he doesn't have personal money.

Why would she fear him? She's had this position for a while.

    That's stupid, childish talk.

What's the dollar/wealth ceiling for you that would be acceptable in a candidate?

You think she thinks she's unbeatable?

Why in God's Green Earth would anyone want to be a senator at age 84 to 90. What's wrong with these types who wish to die in office?

I'd agree, you watch these Congressional Hearings, especially the Senate, and you wonder

I can't speak for them but I can imagine it might be hard to give up that type of power.
