    Default Jennifer Lawrence Nude Linup

She claims she was forced to do a nude lineup when she was young and told to lose 15 pounds in two weeks. Is that abuse or acceptable for the industry she chooses to work in?

Jennifer Lawrence Recalls Standing In ‘Degrading’ Nude Lineup For Audition

“It’s so fundamental to the female experience to be mistreated and feel ashamed.”

Jennifer Lawrence*has gone through many a gauntlet on-screen, but nothing could compare to the “degrading” and “humiliating” experiences she faced early on in her career.*

The “mother!” star was among a handful of actresses honored at Elle‘s Women in Hollywood event Monday night, where she took the stage to make a plea to end sexual harassment in the film industry following the mounting allegations against producer*Harvey Weinstein.*

While Lawrence has stated that she never personally witnessed his abuse, the type of behavior described by the many women accusing him unfortunately runs rampant in Hollywood.*

“When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by the producers of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks,” she recalled. “One girl before me had already been fired for not losing enough weight fast enough, and during this time a female producer had me do a nude lineup with about five women who were much, much thinner than me. And we all stood side-by-side with only paste-ons covering our privates.”

“After that degrading and humiliating lineup, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet,” she continued,*finding the humor in the ridiculous situation.*

“I can laugh now, it’s OK,” she said.*

Obviously, it's an industry where looks and appearance often matter - but that was terrible to read.

I don't know where the line gets drawn, but no one should be treated that way, imo.

I think the Weinstein scandal is really forcing Hollywood to take a long, hard look at itself. And it has really emboldened women; it's a shame that so many were either afraid or not comfortable speaking out for so long. Now, the floodgates have really opened, and it will hopefully lead to some long overdue change.

it is an industry where looks are important. Where how you look nude, might be important. Even trivial things like, do you have tattoos that we may not want to cover up in post? That's all fair game imo when it comes to casting. She was also with a female producer, so it's not like she was being oogled by old dudes. Being told to lose weight again is perfectly fair in that profession because you are casting characters. Professional athletes have contracts about their weight as well. All fair. The only thing that was out of line is that one director saying she was "perfectly fuckable"

One of my best friend's daughter was a Ford model in NYC for a couple of years. Worst experience of her life, he told me. Not good for him either needless to say. She was never thin enough so was constantly starving herself. I know her pretty well from before that and she looked downright anorexic in the photos I saw from Ford. Their idea of what looks good is not mine.

I'm with J-Law, it's degrading and unnecessary. Why on god's green earth do the women have to strip to see how thin they are, what about wearing a bodysuit or something? And the entire thinness issue is way out of hand, it's unhealthy to diet down to skin and bones. I wonder if male wannabe actors are forced to do this.

As for the point about the TV and movie industry being one where perfect looks are paramount (no pun intended)... maybe if they concentrated less on unattainable good looks and began casting more normal, average looking people who are good actors, maybe the quality of the garbage they produce would improve.

And maybe the effect of the entertainment industry's influence on younger people wouldn't be as negative as it currently is.

I know I enjoy watching characters who look like real people much more than those who Hollywood fashion models.

no one wants to see a bunch of fatties running around in movies. Nudity is part of many movies as well and thus how someone looks nude is relevant. Once again you chime in with a completely retarded, womanly opinion.

Shut up dummy, your misogynistic opinion is worthless.

Nah. With a body suit you won't necessarily know who's perky. Nipples are very important in Hollywood films.

It's up to the woman to appear nude in a film or not.
Some ingénues would do it for nothing in hopes of just getting her foot (and other body parts) in the proverbial door with hopes of making more money in the future.
Some have a price in mind, thus it's all about money.

    Insert old joke here.......
Man: Would you take off all your clothes for a few scenes in this movie for a million dollars?
Woman (happily): Yeeeeah sure, no problem!
Man: OK, will you do it for a dollar?
Woman (offended): Certainly NOT!!! What kind of girl do you think I am???
Man: We've already established that, we're just negotiating price now.

And, then there are some who just flat out would never agree to a nude scene.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

situations like J Law occur even if it isn't a nude scene.
