You want them to pay federal income taxes, then give them representation in Congress.

In the words of someone a lot more famous than I:

    "No taxation without representation!!"

Really sad how quickly you forget the rallying cries of the past.
I don't care if they pay them or not. However, if they don't, let them go without when things like what recently happened happen again.

    No taxation, do without.

They actually do have a member in Congress.

    A NON-VOTING member...

Puerto Rico is represented by a non-voting Resident Commissioner in the United States House of Representatives.

    NO TAXATION without representation.
What kind of country have we become?

One in which federal prosecutors can take “evidence” before a “grand jury,”

and that grand jury can “vote to indict” a former president for 91 alleged “crimes”?

That doesn't change that they have representation.

I'm OK with no taxation. Let them starve and live in squalor for all I care.

Exactly the attitude one expects from a self absorbed racist.

Nothing self absorbed or racist about expecting those that want help to have contributed to the pot from which they want to draw.

Your attitude of they should get something from a pot they aren't willing to put into is what I would expect from a bleeding heart Liberal. When idiots like you support handing a bunch of freeloaders in the U.S. unwilling to do for themselves something for nothing, it's not a surprise you'd support freeloaders in Puerto Rico getting something you're unwilling to have them contribute to.
