It’s just not clear that it’s all because of protests. It may come as a surprise that vast numbers of people don’t give a shit about the protests and isn’t even a factor of why they have stopped watching. I went from watching football every Sunday, often two games a Sunday to maybe watching half a dozen a year. My main reason is the excruciatingly slow pace of play and all the time outs, commercial breaks and over zealous officiating has made NFL football dreadfully boring to watch. There’s 11 to 12 minutes of action in a typical 3.5 hour NFL telecast. That, soaring cable cost and an abundance of entertainment options are driving the NFL’s viewer decline. If these protests ended tomorrow the NFL viewer rates would still continue to decline unless the NFL does something to address the real issues driving that decline.

These protest are just another straw on the camels back

Ted Cruz warns of "Watergate-style blowout" in 2018

Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday warned that Republicans could face significant losses in the 2018 midterm elections if they fail to enact any major part of their agenda.

"If we do nothing, if tax reform crashes and burns, if Obamacare nothing happens, we could face a bloodbath. I think we have the potential of seeing a Watergate-style blowout," the Texas Republican said at a Koch brothers donors meeting at the St. Regis Hotel in New York.

Sen. David Perdue, R-Georgia, echoed that same concern: "If we fail right now to deliver a meaningful tax package that stimulates the economy... if we don't get that done, we'll be the minority party for the next 50 years to 100 years just like we've been for the last 100 years ..."

AND, I have no illusions about you caring about black athletes or their cause .. which is certainly your right to do. No one cares if you don't.

'Respect the country' is bullshit from people who care more about worshipping a Clown then they do about this nation.

Your Clown has just isolated the US from most of the world .. and here you are talking about 'respect the country.' :0)

You can believe whatever you want .. I have no problem with what you believe.
ridiculous. i care abou so called "equal justice" and I know there is a problem w/rogue cops.

But it's not more then that either - Kap and company rant on abut institutional racism -
while kneeling there and collecting millions? give ME some of that "institutional racism"

I don't expect you to agree.
You never seem to see the USA is self correcting and has not only given us the civil rights movement,
but has established a viable black middle class.

Not too shabby for a "racist" country. eh?

Take that shit elsewhere. Get their worthless asses up!

Wrong. With the NBA starting up, we're going to see a larger movement that addresses the issue that you wish to ignore.
