Um...more benefits to the middle class, and less of a giveaway to the rich? Increase things like the child tax credit, EITC & tuition credits. Raise the level of income for minimal or zero tax burden.

Like I said in another post, I completely reject the notion that the ONLY way to help the middle class is by giving the wealthiest a huge giveaway. It's trickle down. Been there.

I am all for tax reform, lets roll it back to the way it was in the 1950's.

She gargles with glue, so she thinks she's found something else to blame Trump for that hasn't even happened yet.

I itemize and I'm surely not in the richest thirty percent of Americans, in fact, I know few people who don't itemize
    https://taxfoundation.org/who-itemizes-deductions/

According to the most recent IRS data, for the 2013 tax year,

30.1 percent of households chose to itemize their deductions (44 million returns).
68.5 percent of households chose to take the standard deduction (101 million returns).
1.6 percent of households had zero or negative adjusted gross income, and were unable to take any deductions. (2 million returns)

The IRS data shows a clear trend: the higher a household’s income, the more likely it is to itemize deductions. Only 6.0 percent of tax returns with under $25,000 in income chose to itemize deductions in 2013. On the flip side, 93.5 percent of tax returns with over $200,000 in income were itemizers.

if you have any more recent data please post it.

Is that actual tax reform? It's just wealth transfer. That isn't to say all wealth transfer is bad. The EITC is a wealth transfer to people who work rather than just straight welfare. Education credits for school choice is another excellent program.

But many people agree a simplification in our system is needed. Now coming to an agreement on how to do is hard and we haven't had it done since '86 but just as we change laws to keep up with the times the tax code isn't all that different.

Thanks for that great insight Jarod because our economy today is just like it was in 1950.

You realize that there is a lot of other stuff that contributes to the debt, right?

Current estimates are that Trump will add $5.5 trillion in 4 years.

And wasn't he going to eliminate it or something? I was gonna be so easy...
