Why are they over paid?? Pls be specific..

Fact is you need to stand for something consistent, not sure you have it in you, but just a suggestion.
I don't know him nor the players on the field but as a real American I support their rights........UNLIKE SOME aka you..

Well, that's a question of quality. Up until yesterday, the play on the field was pretty poor, and the games were boring.

If people choose to boycott the NFL because of this, I just feel sad for them. Obviously, it's their right, but I wish they could embrace the opposing point of view and offer opinions of their own, instead of just trying to shut it down.

America doesn't benefit when we are some sort of conformist nation. I hate so many opinions on the right, but I would never want to just shut them down. I want everyone talking & expressing themselves to the fullest.

If you're mad at cops how does this make that point?

I love watching a good peaceful protest, it is one of the greatest privileges of living in this country, being able to voice your opinions without reprocussions.

Also, college athletes do the same thing for a lot less, so there's that.

I think Kaep just wanted to get people talking. And he certainly did that.

He was very clear that it had nothing to do w/ the military. He saw areas where America was falling short, and wanted to express that by kneeling during the country's anthem. I swear, I'm still befuddled by the reaction. That kind of expression is what we're about.

I'm not advocating shutting down their opinions, just that they are choosing the wrong venue for expressing it.

If the players were so concerned about police brutality, then, again, they should hire a PR firm who would guide them in a much different direction. Heck, I can come up with a better way just off the cuff.

Imagine a series of commercials with the individual black players, in street clothes, as a regular dude, in the 'hood, getting harrassed by cops. Hidden camera work like Breitbart used to do.

Wouldn't that be a win-win-win? The player's reputation would be raised, the cops would be chastised, the league would benefit...

Bullshit. Kaepernick was played by his muslime girlfriend

Again, what has he done outside of taking a knee during a game?

How many other jobs are you allowed to bring your politics to work? Are you? Does your boss allow you to protest anything you want at work without repercussions?

I guarantee if it were someone like Tebow taking a knew over abortion, you would be shitting your pants. You just love the cause so you ignore the broader context. Nobody is saying athletes don't have the right to protest. Just that during and before a game where people to to escape the daily grind is not the place. You are assuming that everyone wants to see that bullshit. They do not.

BTW. Here are the NFL Rules on the National Anthem. Doesn't appear they are following them are they?

The NFL rules on the National Anthem can be found on pages A62-63 of the NFLs game operations manual:

The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.
