I'm sure that they give generously of their time and money to worthy causes. But tell me this:
Tell me about Michael Vick's heroism.
Tell me about Ben Roethlisberger's heroism.
Tell me about Ernie Holmes' heroism.
A 2009 investigation by ESPN into the Steelers' history with performance-enhancing drugs found an alarming number of former players suffering from heart ailments. "Even if there is no pattern or clue linking the deaths to steroids," wrote the article's author, Mike Fish, "since 2000, 17 former Steelers have died before they reached the age of 59."
Seventeen men. Dead.

NFL games across the country are set to kick off in just about thirty minutes.
Before the happens, let us make something entirely clear: VoteVets supports any and all NFL players taking a knee today. Their right to do that is precisely why many of us signed up to serve.
It's important that veterans, military families, and those who support them make themselves heard on this issue:
Add your name to VoteVets petition supporting NFL players who decide to #TakeAKnee during the National Anthem today.
We aren't alone:

Please don't try and pretend that only the Steelers have hired the occasional bum and that only Steelers have taken steroids, just because you're trying to get to me. And bringing Ernie Holmes into your diatribe is dishonest, he was mentally ill.
What about all these players and former players who suffer traumatic brain injuries from getting hit in the head? The NFL never gave a shite about it, and now trump's whining because the game isn't violent enough to suit him. There are players who left football after learning about the dangers and not wanting to become statistics. Google John Urschel.
"A brain injury study conducted at the Boston University School of Medicine showed that 33 of 34 players tested post-mortem showed clear signs of CTE,[1] and additional players have so far been confirmed with CTE separately. A new list released in November 2016 mentions CTE in 90 of 94 brains of former and deceased NFL players.[2] In July 2017, a new study showed that 110 of 111 brains examined showed signs of CTE."[3]
