Default I'll say it again, the best analogy to understand international politics..

I'll say it again, the best analogy to understand international politics is a schoolyard that the adults have abandoned. Trump understands this.

The US is the big kid who is constantly challenged by little wannabes. He doesn't want to kick ass, but will if one throws a rock at him.

Well of you want to make the comparison, the toughest kid on the playground doesn't need to show how tough he is, others already know, and he gains nothing by beating up another everyone knows he can whip, just makes him look vulnerable

    That was my point.

What I didn't mention earlier is that the big kid should act to shame the little instigators, and in a way that causes the other kids to join in. Stupid insults that won't stick won't work. But smart ones that stick will. "Rocket Man" is the perfect insulting nickname, because it is true as evidenced by Kim's behavior. Now all the other kids, the ones who mainly watch and don't get involved but overall influence what is going on, can smirk at Kim.

Without any support from the majority, the instigator simply looks foolish and loses the ability to act on his threats.
