Trump is laying down the law. It is unimaginable that Obama was unable to follow up on Bush's foreign policy in regard to Dictators with weapons.
Bush's policy toward Iran obtaining Nukes was a simple yet effective one. No you will not have nukes and no we will not engage in conversation about it as to provide your cause legitimacy.
What was so hard about continuing that?
In Iraq Bush told Sadaam you will adhere to UN sponsored orders or we will come in and verify ourselves. Sadaams thumbing his nose at this left him hanging from a neuse in a cold dark dungeon.
You don't deal with mad men when they are threatening world security and refuse to follow the rules.
So,
Trump is the sheriff in town now, so back to American leadership we come. And the world is welcoming it, regardless of what the media is trying to make you believe, those leaders will leave NYC knowing we got this.

Textbook right wing faux patriotic jingoism. Exhibit A. This is Republican pornography. I think he violated a rule. ^^^
Obama's policies were different, but he was no shrinking violet. He got OBL, didn't he? He went along with the UN and got Gadaffi, didn't he?
Maybe it's a good time for tough talk on NK. But we always used tough talk. Trumpspeak tends to degrade, emasculate and unnecessarily humiliate adversaries. Tin pot dictators usually have issues. Best not to do that.
For the record, Trump in actuality has done nothing successful. Has he shot down a missile test? Nope. Has Kim aborted a plan? No. He is high fiving his generals on a daily basis for their feats and advances.
It has, in fact, been ramped up during this administration. Perhaps they believe Trump is a pushover, so, again, maybe some tough talk is in order. Remember, however, that Bush the Lesser burned all US credibility
before the UN. Thanks for that. Anything that hinges on expert assessment or US intelligence product will not be given any benefit of any doubt before that body.

Here ya go Tom, I knew it would come out sooner or later.
"President Donald Trump ignored senior aides' warnings not to personally antagonize North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week, The Los Angeles Times reported.
Trump's decision to call Kim Jong Un "rocket man" and his threat that the US would "totally destroy" North Korea was reportedly improvised and was not in a draft of the UN speech that senior aides approved the day before he was set to address the General Assembly, according to the LA Times.
Intelligence officials and top aides, including national security adviser H.R. McMaster, had reportedly warned Trump multiple times not to make personal attacks against the North Korean leader, especially at a critical venue like the UN, out of fear that it could backfire and put a damper on US attempts to de-escalate the nuclear threat the rogue nation poses."

LOCK HIM UP!
It's now "Little Rocket Man"... probably his best effort to date. It made me smile slightly.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

McMaster's on the record.

How is it even in doubt that this Orange Fat Ass is ad -libing these childish insults?
This shit is beyond the pale, no American president I can remember, and actually no fully functioning adult I know, would get in front of the UN and issue grade school taunts in that type of forum.
The Bill Clinton approach was to give North Korea 500,000 tons of oil per year and provide $4 billion in aid. For that they then secretly developed nuclear weapons with the help of A. Q. Khan.
