Not an "event" and not "current".
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
- -- The Buddha
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."
— Joe Biden on Obama.
Socialism is just the modern word for monarchy.
D.C. has become a Guild System with an hierarchy and line of accession much like the Royal Court or priestly classes.
Private citizens are perfectly able of doing a better job without "apprenticing".

The Asthma thing is interesting. Wonder if it is related to the shoddy housing they often live in. It is getting better as basic housing standards improve over time, and non-discrimination laws are allowing more blacks better economic opportunities, but a lot of the low end dilapidated housing many still live in can't be very airtight just looking at them.
Though it doesn't hold any water, one of the better arguments I have seen to some of these things is to blame it on inferior health care for negroes. Which in part could explain two or three things. If you wanted to buy into that argument. But it doesn't explain those things away to any meaningful degree. Also, all Americans pretty much get the same health care. Unless you go through the VA. Then it pretty much sucks for everybody. And for the poverty angle, consider this. There are around 196 million Whites in the U.S. There are about 42 million negroes. So there are probably more poor White people than there is the entirety of negroes in the U.S.
Whites breathe the same kind of air. Also, have you ever been to Africa? Where you can really separate the black from the Whites? I have never been. But I do know that they have at least some real doctors there. Who were educated in Western medicine. Maybe they would have a little better idea of what is normal for negro women. Don't you think that this is something that they would have passed on to Western doctors? But this is pie in the sky. Because I'm sure it is common knowledge to American Veterinarians what is normal for any stage in the life of a chimpanzee. Male or female.
