But that's the thing with Twitter utterances. Do liberals use Twitter?

James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

Trump never said that he had tapes.
That's all he said......people keep getting hung up on that word 'hope'.

It's like.......Archives had better hope he learns to read.
You have struck me as a person who is not a native speaker of the English language, or perhaps ended your education at or near the third grade.

Competent speakers of the English language know and realize that English uses both connotation and implication in its rhetorical structure. That is to say, both literal and implied styles of writing and speaking.

Any reasonable person, in fact any native speaker of the English language, recognizes that Drumpf was implying that tapes existed and was issuing a not-so-subtle veiled threat to Comey.

There's no tapes, just as well
they would have served no purpose.

Can we end this witch hunt now?

We have roads and bridges to build, a border wall, bring back jobs to America, return our standing on the world scene to that that is American values and resolve, clean our inner cities up, fix our health care disaster known as Obamacare, so on son

So much work to do and Democrats want to play Perry Mason with our money

    So true & so sad...

The cons here really like to have it both ways, when Trump tweeted that he was under investigation, they said we couldn't take him a litterally, but when he tweeted about tapes, they argue we have to take every word he Tweets very literally.

My god - the conservatives here say the same thing on every one of these threads, for every one of his lies.

"How do we know HE knew, blah, blah, blah."

How many times can you guys do that before you think, "hey, there might be something more at work here..."

YES! You got it. Perhaps you don't recall how the media was afire with rumors that Comey would deny telling The POTUS he wasn't under investigation. That rumor died a quick death when Comey thought there might be tapes and was forced to either call his bluff or testify truthfully. Boom played.

Played? Please, it was a bluff and so far it seems to have backfired if anything.

    Omg.

Trump can only be threatening Comey if you could somehow discern *who* had the tapes---from a Tweet. Also, there's a difference between threatening and bluffing.
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017
