Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk,

He'll go back to tweeting that it's fake news when it drops down again.
Oh - and it was a false claim, as well.
Shocking that Trump would make a false claim like that!
If Trump were really popular, there would be more than one poll that showed him above 50%. It would also show him above 50% consistently, rather than once in a blue moon due to polling error. His actual approval rating is the lowest its ever been.

my general rule of thumb is to -5 from anything rasmussen says about repubs. I bet he's closer to 45...(the -5 is already taking into account outlier status). It's also clear that a lot of trump voters are skittish in talking to the mianstream media. Also some approval polls are samples of americans or registered voters which as we all know is not as accurate in determining electoral outcomes. Being at 45% with all the fake news about russia though is actually not that bad and once that evaporates he'll probably get a permanent baseline bump.

Nyuk nyuk nyuk. Not true.
President Donald Trump unleashed a series of tweets Sunday morning, touting a poll that showed him with a 50% approval rating, which he said was higher than his predecessor.
But that wasn't all true.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking poll did show President Trump with a 50% approval rating on Friday, June 16 — the first time Trump had reached this high of an approval rating since April, the pollsters noted.
But on June 16, 2009, then-President Obama had a 56% approval rating under the same poll. And on June 18, 2009, Obama had a 55% approval rating.
