Nearly two-thirds of Americans disapprove of the job President Trump is doing in the White House, according to an Associated Press/NORC poll released Thursday.
Sixty-four percent of respondents in the survey said that they don't like how the president is handling his office, while just over a third, 35 percent, approve of Trump.
The poll also found that 65 percent of Americans believe Trump has little or no respect for the country's democratic institutions and traditions. Only about 34 percent said they believe he has a great deal or even a fair amount of respect for such institutions.
While that sentiment appeared most common among Democrats and independents - 9 in 10 and 6 in 10, respectively - a third of Republican voters said Trump had little or no respect for democratic institutions in America.
While the president entered the White House with relative unpopularity, the AP noted, his dwindling approval numbers and perceived disrespect for the country's institutions show mounting challenges for Trump as he seeks to cast himself as a unifying figure.
Trump also faces disapproval in some key policy areas. Sixty-six percent of Americans said they disapprove of Trump's handling of healthcare. That comes two months after House Republicans passed a measure to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act. The Senate is hammering out its own healthcare bill.
Nearly as many Americans, 64 percent, disapprove of Trump's climate change policies. The president announced earlier this month that he would withdraw the U.S. from the 195-nation Paris climate deal and has made a concerted push to undo Obama-era environmental regulations.
The poll surveyed 1,068 Americans from June 8 to 11, and respondents were interviewed either by phone or online. The survey's margin of error is 4.1 percentage points

tell us what it is in 2020.....
Trump's disapproval rating hit a record high — and he hit the mark faster than any modern president
July 13, 2017
It took Trump just 69 days to accomplish something that the country's most unpopular presidents took years to achieve
President Donald Trump's disapproval rating hit a record high on Tuesday in Gallup's daily tracking poll.
Trump's disapproval rating hit 60%, its highest mark yet. His approval rating sat at 36%, the second-lowest of his presidency.
When combined, his net approval rating of -24 was tied for the worst mark of his initial months in office. He previously hit that net rating in late March, when his approval rating was at its record low of 35%.
Previously, the president who hit a 60% disapproval rating the fastest in Gallup's poll was George H.W. Bush, doing so on his 1,290th day in office. Gallup has tracked disapproval ratings for every president since Harry S. Truman.

Can the United States - and the World - really go on with this absurdity, whatever the opinion of American cave-dwellers and tree-swingers?

Ha! Your forget the knuckle draggers.
It is undeniable the Drumpf is an embarrassment to the nation, is the most unpopular and inept president ever, this early into his term, and is quite possibly mentally unhinged.
It is worth remember that the Orang Clown lost the popular vote by three million so he was not the choice of the American people, he was elected by the Electoral College.
It takes more than just the last remaining dead-enders, 35 percent or so, of Americans to prop the fat old guy up. Drumpf's fan boys, as you can see on this forum, will continue to worship him even if he commits treason or crashes the economy.
The real impediment to removing the old, fat, nincompoop from office is institutional. Sadly, we have highly undemocratic institutions in this country that will probably keep Drumpf from being impeached. A Senate which is constitutionally set up to disproportionately favor rural, republican red states at the expense of liberal blue states, a House of Representatives that was cynically gerrymandered to favor a Republican majority, and an electoral collage that was set up to give disproportionate power to slave states, i.e. conservative states.

The only way Rump gets impeached before the 2018 elections is if he dips into the low 20's in approval.
