"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."

So you can't show one that talks about food stamps, huh? There's a reason for that.

Yet your mindset is supporting the government forcing someone else to do it so you can claim compassion. Jesus warned us about your kind.

The Bible doesn’t talk about many things, it was 2,000 years ago, you’re ignorance astounding.

Actually there are numerous passages about helping the poor and every one of them are voluntary. Thus forcing people to care for the poor is in conflict with the teachings of the bible.

You are just looking for excuses to be a base and selfish person. It is not hard to do. Trump does has done it his whole life. It is empowering for some people to have control over "others'.Fact is the majority of food stamp users are children. Others are sick or crippled. The bible is rife for self interpretation. You can root through it and find any justification you need including slavery.

Was not a tithe required in the old testament, a part of which went to the poor??

First off shithead how did you come to that conclusion? Show me anywhere that I have said I am in favor of denying aid to the needy! You bring up children well Einstein most needy families have (dare I say it) children. So you support aid to children as do I but do you also support abortion?

Lastly you bring up slavery which isn't even part of this discussion. Could the bible be talking about slavery as that was a common practice when it was written?

I wonder why Mason is stupid enough to think he knows what I do for the poor.......is it because his rationality is deteriorated by his liberalism?.......

If that's the way you feel, then stop trying to use it to support your stupidity.

The demand became too big for the churches, tithing was not enough to feed the poor, care for the widows. If it is your duty then Christians are failing miserably and if you truly care for the poor then you would not bitch that the government has stepped in to help.

I did not say one word about government programs to help the poor. I was pointing out that the command by Jesus to help the poor was meant for individuals. But, I certainly don't think government should make policy based on something Jesus said--seems like that violates the establishment clause.

Did Jesus condemn or speak out against grain dole by the Roman government? Herod also saved his people from public famine, did Jesus condemn it and command that only private charity should exist?
