The turbines are much like the Leftwings coal fired electric cars which have a huge manufacturing CO2 footprint

My only beef with wind is that the turbines are ugly as all heck. I wouldn't want to live in a rural era near all the wind farms. Plus the damn things kill migrating birds at an alarming rate. That being said, I would not mind at all if they sited these things at major ski areas like Vail, who claims to be 100% wind or some bullshit like that. All they are doing is buying into the grid-based scam that Zippy thinks is wonderful. If Vail wants to claim the green mantle then put the damn things right where the energy is used.

With respect to PV, the problem I have is the so called "solar farms" that are cropping up all around here in NC. Perfectly good land that was used to grow FOOD, providing real energy by the way, is now unable to be farmed, basically forever, because of solar panels. While at the same time we have thousands of acres of rooftop and highways where the panels could be installed without negative impact, making electricity closer to where it is actually used.
The biggest problem is they don't really save any CO2. You must still have dispatchable energy on tap for the peaks and troughs and run very inefficiently as well thus producing far more CO2 than a CCGT power station running constantly. They are also reaching their theoretical limit known as the Betz Limit. If you were to use only wind power, which is impossible anyway, to provide 100% of US electricity you need in the region of 600, 000 turbines. As for noise, they are incredibly noisy if you are close by one especially at night and they do a bloody good job of chopping up birds.

Albert Betz was a German physicist who calculated that no wind turbine could convert more than 59.3% of the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical energy turning a rotor. This is known as the Betz Limit, and is the theoretical maximum coefficient of power for any wind turbine.

How to debunk the obvious with pesky things like uh... facts.

Turns out unsurprisingly, wind energy fared far better than all conventional sources of energy, and better than nearly all other renewable sources of energy. Including all lifecycle emissions factors, wind energy’s emissions are a few percent of the emissions of fossil-fueled energy sources.

When all is accounted for in the life cycle to create and install wind turbines they are bahhh still cleaner but hey the Spectator would NEVER spread disinformation right after the worlds largest wind turbines go online in the UK now would they?

I wonder if having Coprs shill hands up ones ass all the time is some kind of weird fetish or something for Repli-CONformation-biasists.
There's nothing more convincing than a crook who ran a bank into the ground and lines his pockets from a coal mine in northern England and was censured by Parliment for not disclosing his interests in a company making fracking equipment.

Those stats are highly misleading, they always quote the nameplate capacity, the actual capacity depends on the load factor which typically less that a third of that. Oh and the total amount of electricity generated by wind in the US is around 6% but if you look at total energy use it is around 1%!! Also bear in mind that dispatchable power like gas or hydro needs to be available 24/7 to provide a consistent baseload.

Before wind power can free the world from our dependence on oil, it must start small, with individual cities like Shitsville, Iowa.
What kind of country have we become?

One in which federal prosecutors can take “evidence” before a “grand jury,”

and that grand jury can “vote to indict” a former president for 91 alleged “crimes”?

    A TWO YEAR OLD ARTICLE!!!

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

So very desperate to put down renewable energy...too bad you've got NOTHING more current.

    Fortunately, I do!

First quarter highlights: We’re about to build a Texas-sized amount of wind power

American wind power is in the midst of a Texas-sized boom to start 2017. The industry just posted its best first quarter in eight years, and put up a new turbine every two hours and 24 minutes over the year’s first three months.

????....did I say somewhere that it was a picture of CO2?.......I just thought it was a picture of an ugly power plant......compared to the wind farm........

He actually says in the article that he has an interest in a coal mine. He points out that because concrete and steel mainly use coal then he actually has a vested interest in wind turbines. I took that part out because I wanted to see if anybody actually read the article. Anyhow I can't see how someone who claims coal to be a renewable ought to be sounding off about it.

Yet Texas has cut back the huge subsidies on wind power, didn't anybody tell you?
