His computer wasn't connected to the web, so he would type his perverse thoughts out and have them loaded to a thumb drive, which curriers would then carry to his underlings or Al Jazeera.

While Obama was in office, the CIA isolated one of Osama's curriers, they traced him to a town in Pakistan and Obama gave the order to nail Osama.

Yes, Obama gets credit for getting Osama. Not to say Bush wouldn't have---given the identical circumstances.
Bush actually had a chance to go after Osama at 2 critical junctures but committed resources elsewhere. It was a matter of prioritization, that can be debated, but the basic fact is that his hunt for OBL was lackluster at best.

I don't really mind Tillerson. He seems capable so far.

I agree with that. I think personally it had a lot to do with Cheney. As long as the bogeyman was out there it was carte blanche for increased spending for no bid contracts, bending government policies etc. Cheney did not want the cash cow to end.

I wouldn't really doubt that - but I also understood some of the reasoning I heard about not making it a top priority. We all wanted to see OBL brought to justice, but 9/11 was really his opus, and he was basically a symbolic leader after that. I sort of get committing resources more to areas that were focused on security & not necessarily our sense of justice, especially early on when there was a lot of uncertainty.

That said, I was happy when we got him.

    Love Tillerson's remark..."This isn't my first sword dance."LOL

This has been a remarkable visit. I watched the entire presentation today, listening to King Salman and POTUS and those leaders who followed. I feel like the elephant has been removed from the room and global leaders (at least these) are finally speaking out loud and in unity regarding the terrorist situation without being bound by political PC. That center the Saudis built there is quite impressive in scope and capabilities.

If only our own country could unite around this horrific threat and focus on behaving like adults as well. Instead, over the past few years we've been reduced to catering to very shallow priorities and distracted by ice cream scoops, naughty words, clueless protesters, obsessing over an election loss and "Where's my food stamps?!"...or free this and free that. Depressing.

Those elected to enforce laws are hell-bent on disobeying them. Even the simplest requirement in keeping our borders secure by any means is common sense which escapes the mental faculties of many. The next hit we take on our country is on them.

    On to Jerusalem
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

I need to find out out more about that Center for Counter-terrorism ( whatever it's called) in SA.

I also want to see if their relatively new program of "de-radicalizaton" prisons are paying off.
