Default Hillary barely ekes out a majority in Mich... against "Uncommitted"???

The most astonishing result of yesterday's Michigan primary, is that Hillary Clinton was barely able to eke out a slim majority, even though she didn't have any opponents in the race! She got 56% percent of the vote… and "Uncommitted" got 40%.

It reminds me of an old ethnic joke I once heard:

"The Italians and the Poles were playing a football game against each other. The game seesawed back and forth as football games do. Then at 4:00, a nearby factory sounded its steam whistle, signifying that its day shift had ended.

"In the stadium, the Polish team immediately got up and walked off the field.

"Six plays later, the Italians scored."

OK, it's not quite true that Hillary had NO opponents. Kucinich and Gravel scored in the lower single digits, but their participation was clearly marginal and unimportant.

But the specter of Hillary almost losing the majority, even with no one running against her, is unique in my memory. And it has to be sounding alarm bells throughout her campaign. The "uncommitted" vote, likely made up of frustrated Obama and Edwards voters, amounts to an "Anybody but Hillary" vote in this primary. And it is massive. Even when people didn't have a chance to vote for their guy, they still didn't want to vote for Hillary.

If Hillary is smart (and no one says she isn't), I'll bet she's ruing the day she EVER went to Michigan.
The Constitution isn't perfect, but it's better than the system we're using now.

Idiotic. She got 36% in New Hampshire against Obama and Edwards. Obama and Edwards voter together couldn't even get a majority over her - they all voted "uncommitted", BTW.

Hillary will do,say or go anywhere in order the attempt to get elected...all she cares about is the 'Glory' and prestige of the office of President...she had a dream as little girl...it ain't gonna happen...she needs to move on!

There's nothing "astonishing" about it, to anyone who even has a modest amount of interest in the political process.

Edwards and Obama supporters voted uncommitted, so that in case the michigan delegation is seated at the Convention, they can vote for Obama and Edwards.

Who cares about Michigan? The dems (and to a lesser degree the Reps) told Michigan voters their opinions don't count. The dems took away all of Michigans delegates and the Reps took half away.... all because Michigan decided they didn't want to leave the early nominating process to just Iowa and NH again. Oh no, THAT is evil. How dare Michigan want to actually have the option to vote early like the other states? Who the hell do they think they are? The DNC and RNC know what is best for them.... and this year that means no voice for the Dems in Michigan and half representation for the Reps.

Which means that Kucinich got about 10% of the Uncommitted vote...
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Hillary sucks but I don't think it is significant that she got 40% in MI. No one gives a shit except Karl Rove and the dummy that posted this.
