Default Why Do You Believe What You Believe?

I troll this place a lot but this is a serious question. Why do you believe what you believe?

The country is divided. We all think we know politics but I wonder how much we really know.

I don't care if your beliefs are abhorrent to me as long as you know why you believe what you believe. That's all I ask.

So, why do you believe what you believe?

I'll kick it off. I don't like democrats or the gop. I think human beings are hard wired to be individuals. We are not wired to cooperate from the get-go. Any law passed requiring us to do so goes against our nature.

The GOP sucks, but the 'rats suck worse. Neither one cares about the Constitution, which is what I believe in. Why? Maximum freedom. FedCo was tasked to do a dozen or so specific things, and everything else left to the States, or to the People. Who in their right mind would not believe that is the best system?

I think it depends on the issue, but to me it comes down to this.

I believe Corporations and other big businesses have making money instead of a heart.

I believe individuals, for the most part, have a heart for a heart.

I believe in as much freedom for individuals as possible. When its a debatable issue I err on the side of freedom for the individual. Corporations and big business must be restrained by Government or they will severely limit freedom for the masses. This is the defect of Capitalism, unrestrained it enslaves the people... properly restrained it is the best economic system we have.

I believe what I believe politically because what I believe politically is supported by the text of the Constitution.

I believe Americans have gotten way too complacent and government has gotten way too big as a result of it.

We're getting colder as a people because more and more are abandoning their morals and pursuing their own selfish interests.
Free speech is cool as long as it jibes with our program.

That's what courts are for. Nobody even multi-billion dollar corporations have any right to violate anybody's rights to life, liberty, property, clean air and clean water.

Many of the posts here are from people whose messages I don't see, so I hope I am not way off beam when I go by the words on the top and say that I believe what I believe because it fits in with the experience of my People and my family, as interpreted by a fairly sceptical and educated intelligence in my own generation.

Your actions at the voting booth don't support your stated goals.

If you promote any part of Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security, a federal social safety net for individuals, corporate welfare, the Military Industrial Complex, federal confiscation of State properties for national monuments and parks, involvements in foreign wars without an attack having been made on the United States, Nation building abroad, just for openers, then you like and promote BIG government and have little to no support Constitutionally for your promotions.

Actually the Courts have held that Corporations have the same rights to people, basically for Constitutional law Corporations are now people. Citizens United.

Same rights, same responsibility not to infringe on the rights of others.

You are well documented here as a European style communist. You preach absolute socialism but refuse to defend its idiotic ideology. You've been educated by fucking fools and tyrants.

Actually I do believe the courts have upheld that money when used to promote political opinions and speech are protected by the 1st amendment as free speech. Explain please why that isn't constitutionally correct.

i.e. colonialism stinks, and amounts to large-scale theft; capitalism stinks and amounts to large-scale theft and mass-murder; newspapers are controlled by criminals and tell lies automatically, pushing people to choose fuhrers and work against their own interests: the modern social-type media is vulnerable to powerful liars all the time; people's experience takes time to catch up with reality, especially when power-people deliberately distort it: the vast majority of mugs are brainwashed and bleat like sheep rather than talking like humans.
