There's two really good things about Trump's tax proposal: the first is the prospect for jobs. The current corporate rate is too high. A lower corporate rate should allow more hiring. Same ditto for small businesses---which accounts for 85% of jobs. Small businesses were suffocating under the current tax rate and they do most of the hiring.

So more people working equals more people paying taxes. There's nothing not to like about it as far as I'm concerned.

Another tax plan that will do nothing for the economy but grow the deficit, you people can't be this stupid, but you prove time and again that you are.

Check it out. An unabashed & historic giveaway to corporations and the very rich. Cutting corporate taxes to make America "business friendly" is one thing; this kind of completely inequitable windfall makes no sense at all. Trump claims that that the job growth that will result will offset the huge amount he's going to add to the deficit, but the #'s don't add up.

It's just a gift for his rich friends, on the backs of the middle class and future generations. He wore a red baseball cap and talked a lot about workers, so everyone thought he was "one of them," and "talks just like us."

Like everything else, we shouldn't have taken him literally.
Again.....not taxing anyone, anyone...to include corporations is not GIVING a damn thing to anyone, as its their earned income to begin with not BIG BROTHERS. Its not a give away.....its a break from BIG BROTHER stealing income. Strange that you consider NOT TAKING SOMEONES earned money...as a gift. LMAO But if you "feel" that way there is nothing stopping you from doubling your own taxes on a voluntary basis to make up for the (wink, wink) theft. Why does the left "covet" the personal property of others? There could be no FREE SHIT if the top 5% stopped paying 80% of the taxes in this nation.

The federal government PRODUCES nothing...every single penny it OVER SPENDS comes from the personal coffers of THE PEOPLE. Its time for a flat tax if you want the BURDEN of taxation to be truly equal. There should be no tax on income....only tax that which is spent, that way everyone shares equally. The feds would still take in almost 4 trillion annually (if not more).....the only difference would be the fact that those who have not contributed would now be forced to contribute...even the mob and drug cartels that spend money, even those that earn almost 50 k a year but are determined by Big Brother to be living in poverty would be forced to pay a "fair" share. And the best thing....THE IRS and its political weaponizing would be antiquated and useless (think of the extra money that THE PEOPLE would save by not having to fund that totalitarian Government entity.

Meh, congressional republicans will probably sabotage it anyway, so we can go back to growing the deficit like it has the past decade.

Idea? If Big Brother would live within its means and stop spending money they don't have....like WE THE PEOPLE are forced to...problem solved. THE US does not have a tax problem....its has an OVER(spending) problem.

If you can't make it on 7.5 trillion a year (the taxes collected each year by the local, state and federal governments each year with the feds getting almost 5 trillion of that collected monies).......what difference does it make...you sure as hell can't make it unless you figure out a way to tax 100% of the People at a 100% rate....then if the democrats have their way they would still find a way to spend 125% in an attempt to purchase votes via the peoples tax coffers.

It's "trickle down" all over again.

It would even repeal the estate tax.

Rumors abound Trump's simplistic tax plan was written on a beverage napkin and passed without review to manager Ian Faith of Spinal Tap.

    "You people" is racist!

What your author chooses not to reconcile is that deficits and the debt ultimately won't go down until growth in Medicare and S.S. is dealt with. He claims it's a desire to privatize which just shows his bias.

True, it is code for white gun stroking bitter Christian rednecks from Appalachia on welfare ....aka Republican base or affectionately as you people.

It's not just the one article, though. Even Republican deficit hawks can see the flaws in this plan.

Trump talked about some aspects during the campaign. As everything is w/ Trump, his own forecast of the effect dramatic cuts like this will have on increasing revenues are unrealistically rosy.

The #'s don't add up. It will not pay for itself unless we hit growth levels that border on fantasy.

Businesses don't hire for the sake of hiring. They hire when there is a greater demand for whatever they offer.

It also removes the AMT. Trump's 2005 taxes were then cut by $30 million. A little self-serving.

No question there are flaws in the plan; no proposed plan of this size is without them. And of course because this has to go through Congress there will be changes made. Admittedly I haven't fully read through every part of the plan so I'm somewhat speaking out of my *ss here but our economy needs a shake up. I don't know if this will be its driver but I'm excited it was proposed.

It also eliminates deducting state taxes from federal which hurts him
