Were you even an adult when Reagan used the phrase "Evil Empire"? If you weren't how would you know what liberals thought, other than what you heard from Fox News? I vividly remember the press conference Reagan coined the phrase.

To speak to the rest of your assertions, you do not know me: I do not hate Russia. I love Russia. It is my ancestral homeland, the land of my extended family, and my Mother Land. Russian culture is deeply embedded in my DNA.

I do not like Putin, anymore than I liked Brezhnev. I do not like totalitarians. I do not like authoritarians. I do not like dictatorships. That's what makes me a liberal.

I believe in liberal democracy, and egalitarianism. That's what makes me reject the Reich Wing, Soviet totalitarians, religious fundamentalists, and any attempt to restrict the freedom of man in service of the powerful and wealthy.
