Where is the intelligence?
Every 4 years during the presidential elections, a plethora of white republicans will slide from under the rocks to question the intelligence of black voters who support the Democratic Party that supports them instead of the virtually all-white Republican Party that doesn't. Their comments get flavored with lots of references to 'plantations' and 'slaves.' This past election was no different.
The implication is that whites know better .. and perhaps politics is above the heads of black voters. So in their 'wisdom' .. a majority of white voters elected the absolute worst president in American history .. a celebrity clown and buffoon .. a complete failure in under two months.
Given the propensity of white republicans to always question the political intelligence of black voters .. surely it's fair to question the intelligence of that majority of white voters who elected a danger and total embarrassment to this nation .. or more correctly stated, the lack of intelligence.
Where is the intelligence in electing a loud-mouth lying celebrity with no legislative experience to be the President of the United States? Where?
Trump is no surprise, he's exactly as advertised .. a clown .. a clown who hates people .. particularly people with non-white skin. How's that working out for you?
Get rid of Obamacare? Sure, go ahead and do it .. what are you waiting on? Oh wait .. millions of whites who vote republican are benefitting from Obamacare and don't want to let it go. It seems they've spent 8 years voting against their own best interests. Where was the intelligence in that? Truth is, white republican voters spend a lot of time voting against their best interests. 9 of out the 10 poorest states in the country, and 97 out of the 100 poorest counties in America are republican controlled .. and their citizens benefit from the safety nets legislated by democrats. Maybe Trump will help them grow up as he attempts to yank away their healthcare in preference to his rich friends.
You should have been smarter.
Trump and Obama-hate have made it MORE likely that another Black president will sit in the Oval Office leading this nation again. Compared to Trump, Obama looks, thinks, and acts far more presidential and sane. Trump and his voters have only embellished Obama's legacy in ways that he himself never could.
Trump is an embarrassment and danger .. and at the same time, the best thing that could have happened to this nation. He exposes the overt racism that is America. He exposes the glaring failures of the republican agenda .. and he exposes the undeniable lack of intelligence of that majority of white voters who elected him.

These coal country voters backed Trump. Now they’re worried about losing Obamacare.
Last night, CNN aired a terrific segment on people from coal country who voted for Donald Trump — but are now worried that his vow to repeal Obamacare will deprive them of crucial protections that enable them to stay afloat financially. This dovetails with other reporting*that suggests a lot of Trump voters may be harmed by repeal of the law.
Which raises a question: Did voters such as these know they were voting for this? After all, Trump promised countless times throughout the campaign to repeal the Affordable Care Act, didn’t he? If they are complaining about this now, don’t they have only themselves to blame?

Answer: Yes they do.
Should have been smarter .. get off the plantation.

I'd guess that, liked Brexit voters over here, they were really voting against the way things were, with very little sense of the consequences, because they believed they would be allowed no influence on those. WE have been reduced to the politics of vacant resentment with the resulting nihilism..

I’ll Be Skipping the Pity Party Held by Honeysuckle Lenin Voters
As the pool of white tears begins to flood from the influx of supporters of our newly elected authoritarian who are expressing regret over their votes, allow me to extend the following invitation to one and all: Drown.
Recently, USA Today published an op-ed entitled, “I Voted for Trump, Not Against Planned Parenthood.” In it, Melody Forbes laments that she voted for Honeysuckle Lenin “because I wanted to see change in our country.” Yet Forbes complains about the prospect of the man she voted for lending support to any legislation championed by the likes of Vice President Mike Pence and other Republicans in Congress who have long sought to dismantle women’s access to health care.
“It doesn’t make any sense for Trump, who said he would defend the American people from politics as usual, to sign a bill like this,” Forbes writes. Forbes then spends time relaying facts about Planned Parenthood, as if anyone on that side of the political aisle cares about reasons to consider women’s health, while continuing to write other delusional statements such as, “I did not vote to send him to the White House to take away health care from people struggling to get by.”
That is exactly what Forbes voted for, as is pretty evident to anyone who paid real attention to the campaign behind easily and often refutable rhetoric. Honeysuckle Lenin did indeed defend Planned Parenthood to some extent, noting last year during a Republican presidential debate that it has helped women. However, he said this while still promising to defund it because he claims to be pro-life. Meanwhile, even if the man did promise not to defund Planned Parenthood, anyone who was paying attention to the various stories about him curbing contractors’ pay would find it easy to reckon with the reality that the man’s promises mean nothing.
Still, Forbes has lent her voice to a growing chorus of folks who feign bemusement over a president who’s behaving the same way he did as a candidate.
When the then president-elect pulled back on his promise to build a “big, beautiful wall” along the Mexican border, numerous suckers took to Twitter to complain that a long-proven liar had misled them. The same has happened with respect to the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, which many voters ignorantly assumed was different from Obamacare.
Indeed, the outpouring of hurt, dismay and anger gained so much steam so sharply that it has since given way to a Tumblr, Trumpgrets, that tracks the almost comical levels of bitching and moaning, and other musings, from regretful voters.
As this new administration continues to embarrass itself and drag the nation down with it, there will be more folks who will publicize their remorse over their vote. Such is their right, but I’d like to think I speak on behalf of the millions of marginalized people who will suffer the most under the tyrannical reign of a racist, sexist, xenophobic, narcissistic, pathological liar when I say, fuck all y’all. In fact, run headfirst into a wall. It’s not as if any of you appear to use your heads much, anyway.

republicans have CHEATED black voters to subvert elections for decades
they went one step further this time by using Russian help to subvert elections
Russia helped them lie to the American people
Fox welcomed the help lying to the American people
Poor whites in rural America are experiencing what happens when there are NO JOBS and NO HOPE for a decent life
people escape with drugs and get addicted and die
no money came In to help them stop the cycle
these white people can no longer blame the same cycle in the inner cities for minorities as being the moral failure of people of color
There OWN children are dying of the same plague
racism is DEAD if we listen to reality
racism is dead and has failed its adherants

The Telegraph: Trump voters regret their choice
My Irish heritage has given me a keen appreciation for irony.
For the past few weeks, I’ve marveled at what is surely one of the strangest ironies in American history. Donald Trump owes his presidency to a segment of our population that he and the Republican congress are currently screwing over.
The Donald soundly lost the popular vote to Clinton but managed to win an Electoral College victory by doing well among lower-income, older voters in conservative, rural regions of the country. Here’s the irony: These very same voters will lose big when Trump and the Republican-dominated congress repeal Obamacare.
In nearly 1,500 counties across the nation, an older American who is not yet eligible for Medicare and with an annual income of $30,000 stands to lose more than $6,000 a year in federal subsidies, according to a study published in the Los Angeles Times. Trump carried 90 percent of these counties last November. These financially-strapped, older Americans greatly benefit from Obamacare. They heard Trump repeatedly state during his campaign that he was going to repeal Obamacare — and they voted for him, anyway. Why?
In her article “Why Obamacare enrollees voted for Trump,” Sarah Kliff provided part of the answer. The uninsured rate in Whitley County, Kentucky fell from 25 percent in 2013 to just 10 percent last year. Nonetheless, 82 percent of that county’s voters cast their ballots for Trump — including a resident who works to enroll county residents in Obamacare. Kathy Oller told Kliff that the number of people she signed up for Obamacare “must be in the thousands.”
So why did Oller cast her ballot for the candidate who promised to undo all her work and throw county residents off Obamacare? She didn’t think The Donald would keep this particular campaign promise.
“I found with Trump, he says a lot of stuff,” Oller told Kliff. “I just think all politicians promise you everything and then we’ll see. It’s like when you get married — ‘Oh, honey, I won’t do this, oh, honey, I won’t do that.’”
Oller was by no means alone in her naivete. Kliff talked with other Whitley County residents who thought Obamacare had problems but held “a persistent belief that Trump would fix these problems and make Obamacare work better.” These voters weren’t uninformed. They heard Trump repeatedly vow to repeal Obamacare but “simply felt Trump couldn’t repeal a law that had done so much good for them.” In other words, they voted for Trump because they were sure he wouldn’t keep this particular campaign promise.
Let’s not assume that the voters in Whitley County are unique in being so naïve. Any number of states will suffer when Obamacare is repealed. According to the study published in the Los Angeles Times, “Most affected by the Republican health care plan would be parts of Alaska, Arizona, Nebraska, Tennessee and Oklahoma, where the insurance subsidies under the so-called Obamacare have been crucial in making high-priced insurance affordable.” Trump handily carried all five states last November. “Also hit hard would be parts of key swing states that backed Trump, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Michigan,” the report notes.
There might be another reason some Americans who benefit from Obamacare and its subsidies voted for Trump. According to a 2016 survey conducted by Marketplace-Edison, 66 percent of Trump supporters believe “the economy is rigged for people who receive government assistance.” Only 32 percent of Clinton supporters hold this belief. Many Obamacare recipients voted for The Donald in order to get back at people they see as free-loading bums. Their animosity evidently blinded them to the fact that the subsidies they receive that allow them to buy health insurance are, in fact, a form of “government assistance.” Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Now that they know their dearly-cherished Obamacare insurance is on the chopping block, many of these Americans regret voting for Trump. I find it difficult to feel sorry for them. They brought this disaster on themselves. In fact, by voting for this vile demagogue, they brought a disaster on all of us.
