Norman Tebbit said it best, he hoped that McGuinness is "parked in a particularly hot and unpleasant corner of hell for the rest of eternity"

As Lord Tebbit, whose wife Margaret was permanently paralysed by the IRA's 1984 bombing of the Grand Hotel in Brighton has so aptly put it: "The world is a sweeter place today. He was a coward who never atoned for his crimes. There can be no forgiveness without a confession of sins."

We refuse to shed a tear for an unrepentant terrorist.

You mean like how Britain has confessed to arming Unionist paramilitaries to commit terrorist acts?

Which Irish? The Southern Irish were very ill informed during the Troubles. I remember having arguments with some of my relatives who just wouldn't believe that the PIRA were into protection rackets, drugs, prostitution and robbing banks.

Gerry Fitt and John Hume were great men but I doubt that you've even heard of them.

The struggle is one of many co-dependent moving parts, social, political, and military.

Many of Ireland's problems stem from the incompetence and intransigence of de Valera. He was determined to keep Ireland ignorant and controlled by tyrannical priests and nuns in his vision of a bucolic paradise untouched by reality. He was totally disinterested in modernising and industrialising the country, which explained why the North wanted nothing to do with him.

The idea had the Irish Government screaming in terror - what they really need is their very own guerrilla opposition! The British peoples have been longing to get out of the place for over a century, but some asked how the original twelve-per-cent Protestant population of the present Republic got itself reduced to under three.

Because Anglican Protestantism is a joke. Give them some tangible heresy, such as Presbyterianism, Methodism, or Lutheranism, and it might have maintained its 12%.
