Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday that Congress was moving ahead with a plan to build a wall on the southern border of the US. He estimated the cost to be between $12 to $15 billion.
At a press conference with McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan, a CNN reporter asked about President Donald Trump’s relationship with Mexico and a pending meeting with the Mexican president that Trump threatened to cancel over the issue of who will pay for the wall.
After saying he didn’t have any advice for Trump on his administration’s relationship with Mexico, McConnell said Congress is working on a supplemental bill to fund work on the border wall.
“We are moving ahead, as the Speaker pointed out to our group yesterday, with a [supplemental bill of] roughly $12-$15 billion,” McConnell said.

Worse than he is not actually going to build it, he is going to spend taxpayer money to build it.
Still don't think its going to get built. I read today a report that the only company in America able to produce enough concrete to build the wall is Cemix, a wholly owned subsidiary of a MEXICAN Company.

This is Trump we're talking about, it's going to be huge. I mean "Escape From New York" huge.
Good. so much for the confusion ... "at the end of the day" is all that counts.
Build it now - pay for it, and then worry about the Mexicans paying for it..
'get 'er done'. That's all I ever care about with Trump.

We're $20 $Trillion in the $hole. http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/
Our infrastructure is literally collapsing around us.
And the great wall of Trumpishness is their greatest spending priority?
We're not yet one full week into the Trump administration. Have they announced any larger spending priority than this so far?
This is just sad.
Nero fiddles.
Rome burns.
Have an ice day.
They aren't going to do anything but beef up security. People are upset that we are now paying for it, some of his voters are upset.
Mexico shut him down. That's going to bother him. He'll look weak.
People aren't going to want a 20% tariff on Mexican goods, over 50% of our produce comes from Mexico.

Then what the %$#@ did they vote for Trump for ?!?!
The Mexicans have been telling they weren't going to pay for it, for months before the election.
"I'm not going to pay for that %$#@ wall!" former Mexico President Vicente Fox ~160225, commenting on Republican U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump's claim that as U.S. president he'd build a multi-$Billion dollar wall on the U.S. / Mexico border, and get Mexico to pay for it
Ordinarily I might suspect Trump has a drug problem.
Perhaps in Trump's case, he's high on himself.

"mexico is going to huff and puff but when they want to renegotiate nafta they will want to be in the room. mexico needs us a lot more than we need them. the president of mexicos approval rating is 12%." + #11
It's difficult to talk sense about it.
First of all Trump has varied on it quite a bit.
First it was wall from the Gulf coast to the Pacific coast.
A while later, maybe part fence.
Then questions about whether it would be continuous, or if there'd be gaps, for example where there is desert.
Each person seems to have their own vision of what Trump meant. I'm not sure any two of these mental impressions match.
=========================
You can't squeeze blood from a grape. Mexico can't afford $40 $Billion for such a ruse. Even getting the wall at the bargain price of $15 $Billion isn't practical for Mexico.
I gather Trump is inviting, heading toward a trade war with Mexico. And oddly, it seems Ryan and McConnell are in lock step w/ Trump on it.
Thank god we got rid of that darned divided government. At last our federal government is working again.
How comforting.
