Yup...me too. Nice thing where I live is that we have great farm access roads so it's not difficult to find someplace where you can get on it.

My preference is for rally cars over muscle cars are really only good for drag racing. Very few have good handling characteristics and are to heavy to be competitive on a track.

Also the higher end rally cars are even more practical than most muscle cars with more storage space. I'm awfully fond of the Ford Focus RS which is actually faster and quicker with superior handling to Right's Charger RT. It better be. It cost almost $10 k more.

And I have driven a Tesla Model S. Most impressive acceleration I've ever seen.
I have not driven a Tesla but I have driven a prototype electric car and the lack of lag when you accelerate is impressive.

Retrogrouch. Tesla's are way cool. Fairly impractical but way cool. They just have so much cutting edge technology.

Impractical in some areas for long trips. But 250 miles is good for everything else.

The acceleration is phenomenal. I have been fortunate enough to drive some serious performance vehicles. The Tesla is more like a launch than anything else.

The technology is nothing short of amazing. When I took a test drive with a friend who was considering buying one, the Tesla tech was telling us how to set the chime to let us know when we reached a certain mph above the speed limit. My friend asked if they used Google Maps to get the speed limits in a given area. No. There is a camera behind the rearview mirror that reads the speed limit signs, including the LED ones. The car READS THE FUCKING SPEED LIMIT SIGNS.

I was impressed with that and numerous other bits about the car. They are almost common here in Atlanta. I know 2 people who own Tesla Model S's. They love them.

I'm not saying the performance isn't impressive, what I'm saying is can you keep it up as long as you want? You have to recharge a Tesla. I can refill the tank in my Vette in about two minutes, how long does it take to get the Tesla ready to rock and roll again?

It depends on whether you recharge or replace the battery pack. Recharging is free at Tesla stations. There are starting to be more automated battery replacement centers. And you can replace the battery pack faster than you can fill a car up with gas.

Everywhere? I can find a gas station in the middle of West BFE. Can you replace a battery pack there?

Not yet. But then, I have already said that the Tesla is not the best for long distance travel. You will add an hour or two for a days travel. But then, how much will you spend on gas while the Tesla driver gets charged for free?

Yes, traveling in a Tesla is not as easy. But for most people, that is not an issue. Daily driving it is amazing.

If you need to drive more than 250 miles or so every day, it is not the best choice. But very few people do that.

It can probably beat your 'vette 0-60. And has more room. I'm 6'2", and I sat comfortably in the back seat.

0.94g on the skidpad test is not exactly "pray that it turns".

I thought you might like these pics of my sisters Mustang Cobra SVT. As a Ford employee she bought it at a steep discount.
