Is there a way here to set up a notification when someone responds to your post? I think that is why I left the last time. I have looked at the settings twice.

Yes, if you subscribe to the thread you will be notified of each new post.

Go to settings.
You will see a list of all the threads you are subscribed to with new posts.

i just use the new posts option...cuts thru the clutter,and shows me new posts I might want to see
