Need the world boiled down to a single cause? There were lots of reasons, but the Russians deliberately interfered to make Trump president.. The indictment of 13 Russians shows they attacked the American electoral system. Why does Trump give Russia a pass for that? They hacked into the system of 21 states. But blaming Clinton's defeat on Comey and Russia is a big stretch when considering Trump picked up 6% of white working class voters more than Romney and Hillary did so poorly among loyal Democratic voter with such low black turnout compared to Obama. I agree with you that there are many factors, so you can't attribute is to Russia. I know people who held their nose and voted Trump just for Supreme Court appointments. That just seems like an attempt to claim Trump's election was not legitimate which is irrelevant now. The hacking of 21 states was not successful if we believe those state election agencies.

If I was Putin and Russian intelligence I am not going to collude with Trump to sway the election to him because I don't want him to know. It could cause possible U. S. legal retaliation. To you. Obama was aware of Russian meddling. He surely did not know to what extent . He did not want to make it part of the election process. The president is not suppose to interfere. However you must know Obama placed sanctions on Russia and booted out about 35 of them. You know that right? Is that nothing? The Russians quickly asked Trump to rescind them.
