Default LeBron James or Michael Jordan? Who do you think desreves the crown as greatest ever?

I'm in the Jordan camp. LeBron is great but Jordan was so much more exciting to watch. I'm probably biased. I am not as much into sports as I was during the Jordan era. I've only been watching LeBron for a couple of years so I missed many of his years of play. . Maybe he is better than Jordan. But ask anyone who was alive when Jordan played and they will tell you how they were on the edge of their seat watching him play.

What do you think? Opinions welcome

Jordan and it isn't even close. Jordan made everyone better. James does not.

Neither and by a long shot. Greatest basketball player ever there is hardly any argument if it's based on fact. Without a doubt Bill Russell was the best ever.

Actually you're right that it's not close. Bill Russell always had Wilts number and Kareem was better at both ends of the court. Those are the two best players ever in the NBA. Offensively though, no one was as good as Kareem....in his prime if he got fed the ball in the low post his sky hook was unstoppable.

I don't think so. Wilt was a great player, no doubt about it, but he just seemed to lack that killer instinct that great champions seem to have. Note Russell's 11 championship rings to Wilts 1 I believe? A number of those championship rings for Russell were earned playing against Wilt and in post season play Russell simply dominated Wilt.

    Averaged 50+ pts per game.
    That's unstoppable.
