    Default The Pittsburgh Cheapshots

I think anyone can understand why Bengal fans loath the Cheapshots. This is the third incident where a Bengal player received a career threatening injury at the hands of a Cheapshot player that was determinative of a game and/or season for the Bengals with no consequences till after the fact for the Cheapshots.

What is truly infuriating was that not only was no penalty called on the Cheapshots in all three incidents, rule changes were made after the fact in response. What a load of crap.

Something needs to be done before somebody gets killed or suffers a lifelong disabling injury at the hands of the Cheapshots.

To be fair, nobody enforces illegal hits.
Unless courts force a huge monitary hit or jail time the NFL will do nothing.
Every illegal hit should equal ejection at the very least.

I thought you meant the Penguins at first. This is a Pittsburgh wide problem.

Agreed, ejection from the game is a far more effective tool for controlling excessive violence in the game.

That's just hilarious. Clean up your own house first. Start with that a$$hole Vontaze Burfict. Cheering after hurting a player is as classless as it gets.

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict may single-handedly keep the Steelers out of the Super Bowl. Pittsburgh heads to Denver on Sunday with its star receiver, Antonio Brown, and star running back, Le’Veon Bell, both already ruled out of the game, and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger listed as questionable. All three were injured by Burfict. Burfict ended Bell’s season in November with a hit that caused a serious injury, and players on the Steelers were furious with the way Burfict got up and celebrated.

On Saturday, Burfict inflicted a concussion on Brown with an illegal hit to the head, and inflicted a shoulder injury on Roethlisberger on a sack. The hit on Brown was the last straw from the NFL’s perspective, and Burfict was suspended for the first three games of the 2016 season. The penalty Burfict drew for the hit was also incredibly costly, as it helped the Steelers move into position for their game-winning field goal.

But while the Bengals are done for this season and Burfict will be out for the start of next season, Burfict’s affect on the playoffs continues. The injuries he inflicted may be enough to knock the Steelers out of the playoffs on Sunday.

Cincy Bungles fans, all high, all class. </sarcasm>

Talk about an ugly scene in Cincinnati.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a shoulder injury after being ridden into the turf while being sacked and Bengals fans pelted him with beer cans and other debris while he was being carted off the field and into the locker room.

After fans cheered Roethlisberger's injury and threw debris that appeared to land near the quarterback's foot, the public address announcer at Paul Brown Stadium made an announcement trying to calm the fans. You can check out video of the incident above.

More classless behaviour from the bottom-feedin' Bungles.

CINCINNATI -- Before leaving Paul Brown Stadium on Monday for the final time this season, Bengals cornerback Adam Jones stood behind statements he made on "The Dan Patrick Show" alleging that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown faked an injury in Saturday night's AFC wild-card game...

It was after being hit in the head by Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, following an incomplete pass, that Brown was said to have suffered a concussion. Sources told ESPN that Brown was still in the NFL's concussion protocol as of Monday...

On Saturday, Jones told NFL Network's Michael Silver of Brown: "Man, that [expletive] was [expletive] acting. He flopped. He needs a [expletive] Academy Award for that performance." He added an award that the Steelers wide receiver should receive on Monday...

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14...ing-winked-him

"He deserved a Grammy Award for that," he said. "I know if you just got knocked out, you ain't going to be able to wink and tell me you're OK."

Burfict's been playing dirty since college and always manages to get away with it with no more punishment than a slap on the wrist.

Stealers were in no danger of going to the super bowl.

I didn't say they were. Doesn't change the fact that Burfict's a dirty player.

Thank goodness the Baltimore Ravens are upright sportsmen who never engage in such tawdry behaviors...
