Default How is that $15/hour minimum wage working out Seattle?

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/...ut_for_ya.html

    a) the city’s employment has fallen by more than 11,000,
    b) the number of unemployed workers has risen by nearly 5,000, and c) the city’s jobless rate has increased by more than 1 percentage point (all based on BLS’s “not seasonally adjusted basis”). Those figures are based on employment data for the city of Seattle only (not the Seattle MSA or MD), and are available from the BLS website here (data are “not seasonally adjusted”).

Now I am sure that the left wingers who think that private property is a bad thing will chastise the business owners for not wanting to forcibly have their labor costs increase by 61% without a commensurate increase in output or profit. When I hear lefties say things like "healthcare shouldn't have profit" it shows a complete lack of understanding of economics and the kind of intellectual prowess one would expect from a five year old.

I also know that the left wingers will just discount this because of the source even though the data comes straight from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.

Leftist think money literally grows on trees. They think the gubment can just print it and give it to them for free.

They have no clue how business works. How these "greedy profits" actually go to shareholders, IE people who invested in the company to help it grow. People think they are private businesses with 1 owner taking in all the money.

This is how dumb libs are. They don't get it, and eat up the Bernie Sanders style lies. It amazes me.

I've also heard that tipping has stopped in seattle for service workers. Because why tip someone making 15/hr.

Which has actually decreased some server wages, because they used to make way more in tips.

Ah but libs want to make sure they are on a w-2 and get all the deductions out. No under the table unclaimed tips. Can't have that!.

Anyway, Seattle is fucked on transportation alone. We can't get this stupid SR-99 tunnel built, the State Senate just fired the DOT Secretary because the express lane project on I-405 made traffic worse (plus the tunnel debacle and continued issues with the program managing the SR-520 bridge tolling system), and there's just no end in sight to the coming nightmares on our roads. More infrastructure continues to fail.

Well, it is simple math really. People never ever think about unintended consequences.

    .
Actually since China told us to stop borrowing QE money they have just been printing 85b a month to give to hedge funders and other wall streeters.
So there is justification for this.
But that action has consequences and people won't like when those chickens come home to roost.

A 61% all at once isn't so gradual

I love when ignorant leftists suffer after getting what they want.

I have reduced my tipping substantially. I used to tip 20%, now only 5% and I only leave a dollar for a buffet and $2 for a delivery. No extra tip at hotels because they already gouge.

One of the biggest reasons I changed my tipping is the math. Figure an average bill of $100. A 5% tip is $5 which may seem low, but in the hour that I am there, that wait person is probably waiting in four other tables. So if each table leaves them $5, that is $25/hr. I see no reason for them to make more.

Try leaving this card instead of a tip.
