    Default Remembering Beefy

    Let's remember Beefy.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
    - -- Aristotle

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
    - -- The Buddha

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
    - -- Aristotle

He was a good friend who posted on this board. You can see the announcements area, look at "Very sad news" and will likely see some of us talking about him.

He told a story about living in Hawaii, buying pineapples at Costco, then selling them on the road to Hana to the tourist for twice the money.

I wish more than ever now that I was able to save those last few months of posts. He came back, and I believe, said his goodbyes.

He really was good people all the way to the bone. I can't imagine him in that dark place...

I'll have to say that the past three years have been the worst my family has gone through... and now I lost a friend I always thought I would see again. I planned on going out to Hawai'i with the family and introducing them. I was always a bit sad that he moved from CO, then to Hawai'i....

He was either saying goodbye or he was asking for help. Nobody will ever know.

Wow, so sad to hear this news. I hope his family and friends can find peace and understanding in his actions. I've been close to hurting myself a few times in the past so I guess part of me understands suicidal thoughts. Hating yourself really sucks
