I couldn't afford tickets but did join the counter-counter- protesters blocking the WBC who came there to hold up signs about gay. lol Oh, and the Beatles played in the old Busch Stadium in the mid-60s. But I was only 11 or 12 and my parents wouldn't let me go.
I was in my late teens, 17 or 18, when I went to my first concert. The Oakland Coliseum had these multi-band concerts called "Day on the Green". I remember BB King, who of course was great. Funny, I cannot remember anyone else that performed, lol. I also went to a lot of stand-up comedy shows in San Francisco. Good times.

I'm the least judgmental person on JPP and usually never try to stereotype people or try to put them in a box or make some comment based on innuendo, but damn, that sounds like 'Groupie' to me.

Yeah, sure it does. But No. I was far from a groupie. I didn't follow them around going to every show, lol

    You're funny Jack.

The first concert I ever saw was some group (I think it was Sugarloaf but cannot find any confirmation of that) that came to our h.s. and performed. I got my first kiss from a boy named Art at that concert. I just asked on my h.s. grad class FB page to see if anyone else recalls.

Can you believe that this summer will mark the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock festival? I remember seeing footage of it on the news, my parents muttering about "dirty hippies," being grossed out by the rain/mud/muddy people -- but entralled by the music. Never have met someone who was there. But I expect that the experience was a lot better years down the road than it was at the time. lol

Wow! 50 years! I was 7 when Woodstock happened. My oldest sister was one of those "dirty hippies", lol. I'm not saying that she went to Woodstock, but that she was a hippie. She still is, kind of. I wasn't a fan of the Beatles and not so much a fan of Elvis. As kids, we would play their records on the player and jump up and down making the records skip. What bad kids we were, lol.
