    I really liked him too.

I'm so disappointed in Mr. Owl. We were playing each other Youtube songs last night, kind of a "guess when this one came out?" game. I played a bit from Wrath of Khan. He asked "Is that from that movie you like with the flying blue people [Avatar]?" WTF!

    Can this marriage be saved?

"Anarchism does not mean bloodshed; it does not mean robbery, arson, etc. These monstrosities are, on the contrary, the characteristic features of capitalism. Anarchism, or Socialism, means the re-organization of society upon scientific principles and the abolition of causes which produce vice and crime."

I feel your pain. Before my wife got really religious and became the cursing police, she referred to the stuff I watch as "CB's happy horse shit". Not just Star Trek and the like, but paranormal and UFO documentary type stuff. Before the days of DVR's and streaming, I used to record a lot of stuff off TV, because, I actually knew how to program a VCR. Anyways, I had a bad habit of not labeling the tapes, so my wife would actually label them, "CB's happy horse shit". Still have, and watch, a bunch of those tapes. And, yes, as you well know, I still curse like a sailor despite her best efforts.

Werewolf Ode to Billy Joe, why did he JUMP, who was on Chocktaw Ridge & what did they throw??

Ode to Billy Joe, why did he JUMP, who was on Chocktaw Ridge & what did they throw??(Pls post your THOUGHTS/insight here)

Bobbie Gentry - Ode To Billie Joe

    Lyrics

It was the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day
I was out choppin' cotton and my brother was balin' hay
And at dinner time we stopped and we walked back to the house to eat
And mama hollered at the back door "y'all remember to wipe your feet"
And then she said she got some news this mornin' from Choctaw Ridge
Today Billie Joe MacAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge

Papa said to mama as he passed around the blackeyed peas
"Well, Billie Joe never had a lick of sense, pass the biscuits, please"
"There's five more acres in the lower forty I've got to plow"
Mama said it was shame about Billie Joe, anyhow
Seems like nothin' ever comes to no good up on Choctaw Ridge
And now Billie Joe MacAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge

And brother said he recollected when he and Tom and Billie Joe
Put a frog down my back at the Carroll County picture show
And wasn't I talkin' to him after church last Sunday night?
"I'll have another piece of apple pie, you know it just don't seem right"
"I saw him at the sawmill yesterday on Choctaw Ridge"
"And now you tell me Billie Joe's jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge"

Mama said to me "Child, what's happened to your appetite?"
"I've been cookin' all morning and you haven't touched a single bite"
"That nice young preacher, Brother Taylor, dropped by today"
"Said he'd be pleased to have dinner on Sunday, oh, by the way"
"He said he saw a girl that looked a lot like you up on Choctaw Ridge"
"And she and Billie Joe was throwing somethin' off the Tallahatchie Bridge"

A year has come 'n' gone since we heard the news 'bout Billie Joe
Brother married Becky Thompson, they bought a store in Tupelo
There was a virus going 'round, papa caught it and he died last Spring
And now mama doesn't seem to wanna do much of anything
And me, I spend a lot of time pickin' flowers up on Choctaw Ridge

And drop them into the muddy water off the Tallahatchie Bridge

Sometimes I'll ask him what that one is from, & he'll say I dunno... Then he'll recall some time later(27 songs later..lol) I dunno how old he actually is, as he has been saying 72 & retired for going on 20 years now & is in better shape than almost all the youngins we take out..lol

Speaking of movie songs...here are two

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

I'm listening to the Chuck Berry - The Definitive Collection on CD. This one has THIRTY songs, clocks in at over 77 minutes, on a single CD! If you're a fan of Chuck's music, pick this one up.
