Aren’t we just providing foreign nations with American welfare?

Why does America need 11 nuclear powered aircraft carriers when the rest of the world combined has only one and one other under construction? Couldn’t we do just fine with let’s say 5 or 6?

I expect the majority of those 120 are nothing beyond the guards at US embassies......I will say I've always been puzzled why we had to call up reserves to fight in Iraq when we had thousands of soldiers in Germany doing nothing......
