NOT SAFE FOR WORK

As we find ourselves emerging from this Valentine’s Day weekend – surrounded by conversation hearts and flowers – it’s time for a real conversation about the President and how he has treated women during his time in office.

No, I’m not talking about the manner in which former President Bill Clinton treated women during his time in the Oval Office.

I’m referring to the absolute, abject, degrading “War on Women” this President has waged since he took office five years ago – all the while courting women for re-election votes, sweet-talking women just to get us to slip into the polling booth with him.

With such an evident contradiction between Obama’s campaign promises vs. the bleak results he has delivered for women, there are certain conclusions to which one can come: a) he’s lying to you or b) as the saying goes, he’s just not that into you – and frankly, maybe he never was.

Obama has been a colossal let-down to women going on five straight years now.

For example, women suffered 92% of all job losses that occurred during the first term of the Obama Administration.

More than 780,000 additional women became unemployed under President Barack Obama, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In fact, unemployment solely among women was up last year a whopping 15.5% since the first day the President took office.

Surprisingly, among unemployed women, the hardest hit have been young women and single women.

This is the very market which is the Democrats’ claim to fame – the elusive, Sandra Fluke, HBO “Girls”-watching, twenty-and-thirty-something, young, female, professional demographic.

While unemployment figures for all of these women are dismal, there’s an even more devastating picture emerging: that of Obama’s record on the number of women he has put into poverty.

Obama recently smashed a 50-year record on poverty, illustrating that poverty hasn’t been this bad since President Lyndon B. Johnson (another Democrat) held office a half-century ago.

The National Women’s Law Center reports that 17 million women are now in poverty – that’s 800,000 more women than the day Obama took office.
